Kato was found by the Order on the ocean planet Dac, where her family had relocated from Manaan. From an early age, she displayed modest abilities in wielding the Force and showed almost no combat aptitude. Due to this, she was considered a candidate for transfer to the Order’s Service Corps. Against the Council’s expectations, knight Vic Gestell took her as his Padawan. His motivation stemmed partly from a desire to give her what he himself had lacked in his youth: support and acceptance.

Kato is quiet and deliberate; she tends to observe from the sidelines rather than engage actively in conversation. Despite her reserved nature, she possesses a deep empathy for others. Her regard for her Master is not one of naive admiration, but rather a steady, attentive devotion.

Although her combat skills remain modest, Kato shows high potential in mental and healing applications of the Force. She requires a high-humidity environment and always carries a personal hygrometer, humidifier, and necessary medications.
