Padauk - A Little Rain Oracle
Padauk is a frenzy of many small yellow flowers bundled together to spray bright stars against the backdrop of vibrant green leaves. The tree is native to tropical forests of Southeast Asia, such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam and serves as the national flower of Myanmar.Ā
The sweet-smelling flowers are used to welcome the traditional water festival, Thingyan, in Burma. The Thingyan tradition has been alive and well for the last 2000 years, a celebration of bidding farewell to the old and bringing in the new. Padauk trees are a potent symbol of love and strength as well, and are used to channel oneās inner warrior, get in touch with spirituality, and manifest the power to overcome obstacles.Ā
