The Truth in the Past || Hannah + Katherine
Hannah sighed as she kicked a rock into the lake. She'd gotten to the cabin easily, but she had yet to enter the place. It'd once been a place of happy memories from a time when things were much simpler. The moment she set foot in there, all her memories would be muddled by this one. The memory of what Hannah and Katherine were about to do.
The idea of it seemed preposterous, but with the things Hannah had experienced in the recent past had all but stifled her disbelief. Hannah kicked another stone into the lake, listening to the splash it made and watching the way it rippled the moon's reflection. Biting her lip she peered back at the cabin, wondering how long she'd be in there under the spell. How long would it take them to venture into Hannah's real past? The one the frightened her, but also secretly intrigued her. She was internally conflicted, as much as she'd prefer to deny it.
A curious spark flared in Hannah's eyes when she thought of what she might find if the spell worked. The thought of finally finding out just who Alswyth really was, and what she had to do with Hannah was both terrifying and exciting. The revelation that Kat had made earlier only increased Hannah's curiosity. The idea of Percy in love was insane. He was a psychopath, and psychopaths couldn't love. And the thought of Percy being in love with the girl who Hannah looked like? Well she could barely comprehend it, let alone believe it.
Finally after kicking one last stone into the lake, Hannah turned and made her way toward the Cabin. Once inside she found her way to the den and sat down on an old dusty couch. Peering around, Hannah took in the memories of her childhood summers spent in the Cabin. A small smile etched itself upon her lips. She closed her eyes and tried to hold on to the past, her normal and simple past, for as long as she could. A few moments later she heard the sound of footsteps on the porch. Letting the memories flutter away, Hannah stood up and went to the door to let Katherine in.
