The video opens on Sundance earlier this year, with the voiceover describing how CMBYN was an unexpected triumph and left everyone in the room in tears, and how far they’ve come now they’re on the road for the Academy Awards. 

Luca: (on the unanimously positive response) “It’s overwhelming/moving, I think there’s a lot of love for this movie because it’s a universal tale of passion and generosity between human beings. [To capture the very feeling of first love on screen] we were focused on showing the power of love, and first love, without drawbacks and hardships. I believe it’s important to take such a stand, especially these days, especially when we live in a world full of hatred.” 

 Timmy: (on how he remains down-to-earth: “I was lucky because I started shooting Beautiful Boy right after Sundance, which lasted 3 months and was very draining, so I didn’t even really have time to reflect on and appreciate what happened at Sundance. Now that [CMBYN] is opening everywhere, it’s very rewarding and I’m very happy.” 

Timmy: (on possible oscar nomination): “What this movie has done for people, the experience it was filming, spending 3 months in Italy, that’s already more than I could have ever dreamed of when we began working on it. So anything more than that would be greatly appreciated but I have zero expectations.” 

Luca @ the governors awards: “It was wonderful, I sat down to watch the movie for the first time in a year and I found it quite alright (laughs). The entire room seemed moved and I felt a lot of love for the movie.” 

Timmy: “it is gratifying to be back in the same place 4 years after Interstellar.” 

The interviewer hints that maybe they will meet again in a few months at an awards ceremony, Luca jokes that it’s always a pleasure meeting him and ends on “we’ll see…”
