Jack entered the brewery a little nervously. He’d been there before, of course, to pick up orders or to grab a drink (or many) at the attached bar, but never during the day. It looked different now; cleaner and somehow more intimidating. He straightened the stack of papers in his hands, feeling the nerves coiling in his gut and headed for Grayson’s office upstairs before he could change his mind.
He gave a knock and entered at the first sign of an invitation, puffing his chest slightly in an attempt to fill himself with confidence. “Hey, Gray, it’s me,” he announced, leading into the room head-first, only to stop near the entryway. “You busy? I wanna talk to you about uh- an idea I have,” he said, slapping on a smile to hide his uncertainty as he shifted his weight from foot to foot.

General Notes: → Grayson and Peyton's first venture together to hunt down a killer
Walking down the street was different now. Everything was different now. Peyton had changed in so many ways. What was worse, she wondered. Constantly smelling blood or hearing every single thing, every bump in the night. At first it had scared her and now it bothered her to no end.
At least she wasn't afraid any more. She didn't fear death, she didn't even think about her father as much because she had years ahead of her, years to think about what she'd done. She was immortal now and she had to admit, the powers felt a little limitless. Every day was something new, every day lead to bigger adventures than she'd ever imagined, she was something else now.
So that's why she was helping Grayson, the man who would kill her if she slipped up, something she didn't intend on doing but proved to be an awful challenge. Because now this was her chance to do something good, to do the right thing and use these stupid new powers for good. She wasn't going to selfish like Darren. However important he was to her, he wasn't going to control her. At least she was doing her best to continue hating him for taking away her life but this was proving to be harder.
That's when she heard a voice, a scream far off in the distance and she went running, running in the direction it had come from. It was a child's scream and it scared her to death. Peyton sped up, coming around the corner of a home to find something bent over the lifeless corpse of yet another child.
Before she could move the creature vanished. Peyton dialed Grayson's number, waiting for him to pick up as she rushed in the direction it had gone. "Grayson! I found it!"
