As a graduating student, one of the most critical and hardest decision to make is picking what course you would take, also complementing it is choosing the college you want to enter. What makes it crucial is that this decision needs your very own verdict which eventually will decide the fate of your life in the coming years.

Entrance tests, or what other calls it admission tests, are the key to somehow finalize your decision in line with your collegiate profession. That's why, what you need to do is to take these tests  seriously for as I call this "the-key-to-a-brighter-life tests". If you pass this test, you could see some bright light shining at your peripheral vision of your future. 

I consider myself a lucky student since I both passed the first two admission tests I have taken. I had passed the "seemingly impossible" University of the Philippines College Admission Test or UPCAT. The result of the UPCAT thrilled my nerves and I was so enthralled with it. I am very grateful because I spent almost everyday of my summer vacation by just utilizing it for reviewing just for this entrance test. Truly, hard work really pays off in the end, especially of those who really deserve. I also passed MAPUA CET which I had taken last November 2013. Without bragging, it is by far the easiest entrance test I had ever took. Probably because, I was able to retain and contain some knowledge I obtained during my review sessions. 

Lucky. Really lucky. I am at awe with this prestigious academic institutions. They serve their students at the best of their capabilities to mold them as the hope of our country. Yes, I passed UP, but I do not find passion in Food Technology for I believe that "Passion drives you to your success path. If you don't apply or have passion on what you are doing, you'll definitely fail in the end." Many will probably tell me "UP na yan! Sayang naman kung pakakawalan mo." Yes, UP is the top university in the Philippines, bar none. But, I am still holding my passion to other things. Not this time, UP. Nonetheless, I am at great appreciation to UP that they chose me to be a part of the new set Iskolar ng Bayan. Truly, a legacy that I will bring until I lie down on my deathbed. Yes, I passed MAPUA, probably the best scholl in the field of engineering. I passed one of my dream course, Chemical Engineering. But, as far as my family-eccentric self is concerned, I will never, ever bring a financial crisis to my family knowing that I am the eldest of the three. Nonetheless again, thank you to  MAPUA for letting me pass and be chosen. 

Probably, you are asking now what am I thinking about. I passed two great academic institutions yet I am to ignore the two of them. What would I do for I have said that college is a premeditation to life? The answer is just simple. I just want to be here in our unpolluted, evergreen province, with my family, thus my luxury. And as many says "Follow your dream.". Why would I insist myself to go to Manila schools if my dream course among the others is just at my present university? Yes, Petroleum Engineering is my dream. PSU is the only school in the country that offers "hybridized" BS in Petroleum Engineering. 

Many people would ask, "Bakit yan ang napili mo? Sus, siguro yung malaking sweldo lang ang habol mo.". Yes. I will not be hypocritical if I will say that I am not into the huge salary. But that is just second to my prior reason. Salary is just a payback for what I am doing. What my real reason is that I know that being a petroleum engineer will be my field of success. The experience of being a petroleum eng'g is a very respected and awe-inspiring job. I ask God several times about this. God then revealed to me that this is what I will going to be. Since that is God's reply to my question, I, as a servant and creation, will follow his chosen and carved path to my future. God never brings his child to failure and danger. 

So, in the upcoming PSU Entrance Examination, still, I will do my best to pass and to be able to pass the 5-year BS in Petroleum Engineering program. But this time, I will help a really close friend of mine, Regiena (oxyjheen), who also aspires to become a petroleum engineer, in preparing for the said admission test.
