Overprotective dad dmitri with right au.
So right leaves home not planning to come back and joins the toppats. Thankfully dmitri didn't make it well known he had a child and right both looks more like and has his other parent's last name so no one is putting together any dots. He lives life as a thief and is pretty happy with things.
Dmitri meanwhile is worried beyond belief for his child. The world outside the wall is dangerous and full of criminals. He thought he could trust right to understand that, to know he'd only be safe at the wall, but apparently he failed. So while he's not running the wall, terrorizing the immates indirectly and directly, he's looking for right. It's only due to this obsessive searching that he hears about a high ranking member of the toppats being arrested during a government mission.
It wouldn't have interested him except the mugshot being clearly his son.
His son a toppat. His poor boy. This is what happened since he left the wall. He became a thief. Did he think he couldn't come home? Did he think dmitri would abandon him? Regardless what he thought dmitri found his son and plans to bring him home.
It takes a bit to convince his old ally hubert to send right to the wall, the other planned to interrogate his son for toppat information, but eventually the other relents to dmitri's logic on security threats and other nonsense and right is sent to the wall.
There he is lead into his old room. Unchanged except for the numerous adjustments to its security. And as dmitri pulls his still cuffed son into a hug, he's shaking he must have been so scared, he's so glad his boy is home safe again.
And this time dmitri won't let him leave.
Right is completely terrified. The reason he left The Wall in the first place was to get away from his overprotective father. And now he is back home.
Right tries to tell his father that he left because of him, of how scarily protective he got. But Dmitri not only didn't listen, he believed Right was brainwashed by those Toppats to hate him. But it was ok, Right would understand soon enough.
Right only had access to his room and his bathroom, everything else he needed an escort for. Right first tried to escape from his window, but the electric shock from his cuffs got to the point he passed out from the pain. Right woke up in his room, with the window now reinforced and bars put around it.
Right's next few attempts was just plain running as fast as he could or sneaking around and hoping stealth would give him the advantage. He was caught every single time. But Dmitri never yelled or punished him for trying to escape, he just lightly scolded him and told him one day he would understand that this was for his own good.
Months passed and Right's escape attempts are becoming less and less numerous, with each ending in failure like always. Right knows that if he doesn't get out soon, he may break and never want to leave. So Right starts to hatch a last ditch plan to leave.
A bad snow storm was brewing, causing some of the electronics including Right's cuffs to stop working. Right was quick to make his leave and without being noticed, Right had left The Wall.
Too bad the snow storm only got worse, making it hard for Right to see anything. It was also getting darker out and Right didn't notice the steep hill until it was too late. Right landed on his leg wrong and realized he was in trouble. He tried his best to keep moving, but the cold was starting to drain his strength and his hurt leg made it hard to get very far.
Right felt himself trip face first to the ground. Right was so tired at this point, he couldn't fight the pain and exhaustion any longer. His eyes slipped shut and everything got dark.
Right was then vaguely aware of people talking, of someone trying to get his attention. Right felt so cold and yet so hot now, and everytime he opened his eyes, the world seemed to be moving and melting in to each other. Right's brain felt foggy and still exhausted, but everytime the allure of sleep led Right's eyes to close, he felt someone stir him awake, telling him to not fall asleep, that they were almost back home. And honestly, going home was sounding real nice to Right.
Right barely remembers anything afterwards, things becoming muddled and hazy. But eventually Right woke up, back in his room at The Wall. Right was home, where it was safe.
It took a few months, but Right's broken leg eventually healed up. Right didn't attempt to leave The Wall anymore, it was his home after all. And soon Right accepted his dad back into his life and Right had even gotten a job as secretary for his father.
Right still had the various security measures in his room, but Right knew that it was for his safety. And Right knew that he had no reason to leave home anymore.
