Higher ground, Penn Medicine Canopy, 34th & Convention Center Blvd

We’ve been all over this project and most of our work has seemed to come in and around the giant hole where Penn Tower once stood (and is now the home of the massive Penn Medicine Pavilion).

But this bridge column canopy or overhead protection system at 34th and Convention Center Blvd really stood out. First, because it was on higher ground and second because it was a beautiful piece of work.

This isn’t a big job but it has a very important distinction. If you look closely at the pictures you will see Superior’s Safety Director, Shawn MacDonald, doing a post installation inspection on this overhead protection system (canopy).

Now, why is this important? Well, it’s part of our safety protocol and it insures the utmost safety for the contractors, subs and pedestrians.
