Endeavour on the first leg of its ferry flight from Edwards Air Force Base
Fourteen years ago today, I had the opportunity to see the last launch of the space shuttle Endeavour (STS-134).
The first and only ever 3-person EVA. STS-49 uses the old reliable hand snatch to capture the INTELSAT VI (F-3) satellite, stranded in an unusable orbit since its launch aboard a Titan vehicle in March 1990. This was the first flight of the new orbiter Endeavour (OV-105).
