This is my attempt at constructing a disco ball from wire. I was planning to bring this further in the next few weeks and add reflective panels from various materials but I still don’t think it would look like a disco ball.
It was quite difficult to come up with a structure that would hold a disco ball shape and not collapse, so I just had to think about man made spheres in the world. This is how I came up with the idea of searching for the net of a soccer ball.
I measured out 12 even pentagons and 20 hexagons. I then looped and twisted wire to attach the sides together resulting in a round spherical structure.
It was a very time consuming process with a lot of planning and it didn’t turn out like a disco ball so with critical judgment I don’t think I’ll move forward with this wire piece.
