please feel free to debate!! im not the best at expressing my thoughts and would be extremely willing to hear other ideas on this. okok…this last issue was something. it wasn’t bad by any means, im not gonna treat it like its the end of the world, but i just dont think we’re heading in the right direction with uncanny. i get that we’re probably around the midpoint of the series so things gotta be changed around, but they way things are being handled is just…no..? for starters, “reintroducing” THE OUTLIERS as the new mutants was such an odd choice. they already had a team, already had their own name, and already had their own legacy being built. i feel like making them the new mutants just shadows everything weve had for the past 2 years, and could potentially lead them to fizzle out and become old forgotten characters because nobody is gonna picture the outliers when you say new mutants, lol. like weve known for a while that theyre gonna be reduced to cameo characters anyway, but it just looks like giving them this name is a quick and easy way to sweep them under the rug. the only thing i hope they do with this is give them a solo, but who knows how thatll be if theyre gonna just be another passing new mutants team. alrighty, that aside, has anyone felt like their story has been progressing too quickly, or just me? like trust me, i love a good character arc and dont want any of them to be stuck as the bumbling shy kids we knew at the start of the series, but the characters feel like theyre kinda being rushed to be shaped into these great amazing x-men. i miss calico’s little phrases and innocence she had in the start of the book, but at the same time im so happy she’s comfortable with rogue and gambit. i feel like jitter is kinda being slept on atm, she had so many interesting things about her before, like how the writers would really use her history (shed sometimes speak her native language, we touched on her strict mother which gave us the understanding of what jitter came from, etc.) shed be super protective over calico, and now they just feel like theyre kinda floating around..? idk, that part may just be my love for the characters and wanting more of them (sofica greed) but yeah. also, not terrible , but i hope we see a resolution to this gambit thing soon. them leaving was kinda sad ngl, because they played a huge part in the outliers lives (which we saw at the end with them reacting negatively). and personally, they were half the reason why i liked the book, because they gave a homely family feel. lastly, i really didnt enjoy how they drew jitter in the last issue, like why did they give her the aunt cass special..💔 im sorry but she did NOT have a pixar mom silhouette, and it was kinda disturbing seeing that 😭
