the weather held GLOOM to it. she watched as rain drops would run down the outside of the car window, mentally having them race another to pass the time. how long had they been driving? it felt like hours. surely, it was hours, right? rain & fog always seemed to find her these days. did the sun even exist anymore? was she now cursed? it felt like it. music from the vehicle radio droned on, and the man that was behind the wheel brought a sense of comfort that cheryl hadn't felt since before hell had come to find her. he made the monsters go away & nightmares were scared to come hunt her. but, he still didn't kill the boredom she was feeling currently. head against glass, the road seemingly going on forever. 'i wonder what he's thinking about. [...] that was his fifth cigarette since we started driving... and barely a word had been spoken since.' eyes glanced over as these thoughts passed her mind, but the blonde didn't spend much time looking at [ @outl4st ] before returning to her little rain drop race game. emotions were ever changing in the recent weeks, however, the sense of safety was always constant. he made it stay. young, confused, yet cheryl viewed the world through a dark lens now. one that would have driven her mad if it weren't for the man beside her. ' y'know, i'm surprised your lungs haven't given out yet. ' was all she managed to say. cutting through the quiet between them. it was funny, actually. they BOTH knew that cigarettes would do nothing to his body, causing no damage. what was even more funny is that she was a hypocrite to teasingly judge him for the habit. cheryl definitely indulged in the deathly smoke sticks every so often, too, but not nearly as much as him.
