Y'know something I find interesting?
Both Meruem and Killua are born with the expectations of their family to be the greatest and the best in things they didn't even choose (king and assassin) this expectations are big and seen as natural and inescapable for them, because their families "create" them for that purpose. (Also both of them attack their mothers before leaving their "house" to search something else)
But when someone new who's talented, and sincere enters to their lives (gon and komugi) someone who shares something with them that they both enjoy and use to grow together to become better (gungi and nen) this person becomes someone beloved who will change their lives.
Gon and Komugi give Killua and Meruem a new perspective of life and sense of autonomy to choose what they want to do with their lives, to choose something beyond the expectations of their families, and what they truly want is to share the time they have, with the person they love.
