Street Samurai: Just a beat I put together with the Waldorf Nave app on my iPad.
Some FM bass nostalgia. I'm probably going to have to remix/re-record this, but I wanted to get a rough mix down. I feel like I've been dancing to this sort of bass groove my whole damn life. Main bass groove is a 2-operator FM patch: The MS-20 Mini is frequency-modulated by a Pittsburgh Modular Oscillator, tracked with a Harvestman English Tear. Then, the bass goes through a series of effects stompboxes: a Malekko Ekko 616 analog delay, then a TC Electronic Mini-HoF Reverb, then, finally, the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, going out in stereo. Volca Beats for the drums. The other synth part is sequenced on a Volca Bass, running through a Monotron Delay.
My first attempt at drone music: Drone Meditation 1. MS-20 Mini and Volca Bass providing background drones. Monotribe filter resonance sound playing the "lead," such as it is. The "Lead" is the noise from the Monotribe's filter self-oscillating, played live. I rode the VCF cutoff pot. Volca Bass is a simple drone; slow LFO modulating VCF cutoff. The MS-20 Mini has the mod wheel patched to the initial gain of the main VCA--that lets me use it as a drone without having to tape down a key. A very slow triangle-wave LFO gently modulates pitch. VCO 1 is a sawtooth wave in the 32' octave. VCO 2 is set to ring modulation, tuned about a sixth up from VCO 1. The same slow triangle wave LFO modulates both High- and Low-Pass filter cutoff frequencies. Pink noise goes into the External Signal Processor and is "played" in bursts every so often.
