🏥 Studying for Internal Medicine Shelf 🏥
Literally all of the IM TrueLearn Questions
400 of the UWorld Medicine/Ambulatory Medicine
Anki from Emma Holliday lectures and Online Med Ed (I hate OME videos personally)
Made a personalized IM guide based on UWorld I got wrong and things I was pimped on in clinic (like 70 pages 😢)
Watched some Dirty Medicine to refresh topics
IM was a fairly taxing rotation for me. A lot of rotating shifts, lots of night shift and sometimes 80 hour weeks but I did learn a lot. I had plenty of slow shifts on nights which means that I had tons of study time (that wasn’t the case in FM, it was go go go). I almost feel like I doubled my medical knowledge in 8 weeks.
I really do love the hospital but I don’t think IM itself would be the right fit for me. I find myself wanting to be the person consulted on the case and coming up with the final diagnosis for the patient. I do love how IM felt like practicing all of medicine and it seemed like all medical knowledge was in it’s jurisdiction.
Would recommend watching Scrubs when you have off time on this rotation though.
