New headcanon about Maglor.
When he returns to the west after two ages as a beach cryptid, with his hair turned grey from millennia spent grieving, he gets a bit self-conscious about it.
All his brothers returned from Mandos reborn and hale. Even Maedhros' scars are gone, and his hand is back. And even though walking out and about with Maitimo again makes him happier than he has been in ages, it also makes him even more conscious about his own haggard appearance in contrast.
Eventually, Maglor falls into old habits and sings a self-indulgent, sad little song to the sea.
Uinen and Ossë are delighted to hear him sing to their waves again, but what is that? Their little elf is sad? They thought he would be happy to return to the west. They listen to his song and, understanding his problem, decide to give their favourite elf a little gift.
Ossë summons a great wave, and Uinen weaves pearl into the sea foam. They make it crash over Maglor, soaking him through.
The water retreats, but the foam clings to him. His light hair gains a beautiful, pearlescent shimmer, and his eyelashes sparkle as enchanting as an abalone shell.
I love the detail in the Valaquenta that while mariners and coastal communities may love Ossë, they do not trust him. It speaks so much to the love for the seas themselves. Ossë delights in storms, when he served Melkor he wrought waves that destroyed large swathes of land.
I wonder what tribute sailors and fishers offer him and what lore and traditions were born out of the wary fondness for Ossë. Ships built with symbols carved into their bows that are said to offer protection. Poems and songs and tile mosaics about shipwrecks and tidal waves. Sacrifices or offerings beside houses upon sea cliffs. The rituals done in thanks when sailors return safely.
Through the fear of him comes greater understanding of weather patterns and marine conditions, knowledge that is then passed down.
Even if Ossë’s greatest power and threat is unpredictability, the people who live near or within his domain will incorporate this into their lives rather than abandon the places they love
Wiggles and Maiar
Wanted to draw all five of my coelophysises (wiggles) with their respective maiarin counterparts which they are named after
Melian befriending Melian
Mairon trying to steal some jewellery from Mairon
Uinen and Uinen enjoying water...
... while Ossë and Ossë explore underwater
And last but not least Arien helping Arien with her Sun-carrying duties

I want Ossë and Uinën to adopt Maglor. Dude wandered the seashore for millennia. There’s no way he never met at least one of them. Like I think after the first few centuries they’d be like “damn that elf is still there? I wonder what his problem is” so they go to investigate and take one look at this suicidal wet cat of an elf and decide “you are mine now. I’m keeping you”
