It's fascinating that the English translations of certain Japanese dialects have similarities to American dialects. Like Osaka dialect reading similarly to that of the american New Yorker accent, or Hokkaido dialect being similar to an american southern accent (Texas, Louisiana, etc). I'm sure lots of other countries have their own equivalents in regional dialects, and I just think that's cool beans.

There is one video on youtube of shaylimtv that teaches you about that particular line Furuta used and what is the appropriate way to use ^o^, hope it helps better with the confusion.
I’m pretty sure this is the video you’re referring to? So it’s sort of a dialect thing, because the phrase is used primarily in Osaka/Kansai region, not in Tokyo, but, from what I can tell, it’s also sort of a common phrase in this back and forth comedy, so while not a direct quote or anything, I guess it’s still Fruit treating this whole super serious situation as an extended comedy bit, which is pretty fitting for his character.

My boyfriend is from Osaka and he has a YouTube channel where he does online lessons on his dialect, as well as a few other videos concerning Japanese, English and Norwegian.
His channel has, as of this moment, 1 192 followers and a total of 63 432 video views. He also offers private lessons for people living in or near Osaka, and has already taught a couple of foreign learners.
Knowledge of the Japanese language is not required, but could be an advantage before starting the lessons.
