My NaNoRenO 2022 entry, "One Romantic Date, Hold the Awkward!", was originally going to have both a Papyrus AND a Sans route.

However, in the interest of finishing on time, I took the scope knife and cut Sans' route from the game in pre-production. (Note: NaNoRenO is a one month VN jam. All entries must be submitted on or before the jam due date!)

On the off chance I decided to insert a Sans route, I left in a comment on where his contact button would be. But after releasing it, I decided that the VN works best as a Papyrus only game.

Context for those that didn't know! Yes, One Romantic Date, Hold the Awkward was originally going to have both a Papyrus and a Sans route. The logo originally had a Sans doodle, too.

The routes would have been two separate stories that didn't interfere with each other. But the concept would have been essentially the same.

The player would be going on a date with Sans somewhere (I honestly hadn’t decided where). And Alphys, Undyne, and Papyrus would have been the wingmen over the phone. Alphys would have still given cautious suggestions. Undyne would have still given over-the-top romantic suggestions. The difference would be Papyrus, who would give suggestions that pushed the player to be confident in themselves.
