This world was so strange. Granted, the Count had promised that the land across the sea would be wild and clay awaiting his molding, Aurora still hadnât thought that it would be quite so unruly. There wasnât a single castle anywhere. Their staff had been cut by more than three quarters and the hut that they slept in was roughly the size of the quarters sheâd previously enjoyed in their castle. Aurora didnât understand why they had to move. Sheâd liked their castle and now it was gone. Â
Now she was meant to let her dresses drag in the dirt as her father showed off her and Tristan to the neighboring clan leaders, trying to make alliances for himself. Tristan was furious with how poorly veiled the Countâs plans were, but Aurora didnât notice much of a difference between here and at their castle except that the castle wasnât as dirty. Â
Today, they were to meet the head of a tribe of supposed wollves. It was rumored that they actually became wolves under the full moon, but Aurora didnât believe that for a moment. Men didnât become animals, they couldnât. They were all just taking their house symbol too far, at least in Auroraâs opinion. Â
Of course, she didnât say that when she met the clan leader, Ansel, and his children. Aurora smiled from her position between her brother and father, the expression broadening at the handsome blonde standing near his father. She stepped forward when called to and curtsied. âHello, I am the Lady Auroraâ she greeted. A moment later, she felt Tristanâs hand on her back, a subtle indicator that she was lingering for too long.
