OLD KNIGHT - Animated short film - by Gabe Hordos
"You can disregard me all you want, but you can’t un suck my dick.” He shot back.
She rolled her eyes. "Oh my gods. That was like a hundred years ago. Why can’t you let it go?"
The new kid looked between the two of them. "Wait you two... hooked up?"
"It was a moment of weakness." She sighed. "I was weak."
"That's not how I remember it, love." He sniggered, looking suggestively at her.
A heavy sigh came from the unnamed mentor is the corner of the room at the banter of the two gods.
"Alright, back to the matter at hand." The planner said spreading out a map on the kitchen table. "So we need four to pull this one off..."
"Or in their case, just two." The newcomer muttered under his breath.
The planner straightened to his full height. "Excuse me? Do you need to go wait in the car? Because if you don't have anything constructive to say, I don't think you're needed here."
The planner was shushed by the mentor. "No. If our new member can’t work with two gods who gave each other head a long time ago, then all this planning is for nothing. Let him mutter. Continue."
The planner opened his mouth, but he was interrupted by the male in the corner.
"For the record... she blew me, not the other way around."
Euphoric Dreams
Perhaps it was a dream, she thought. Perhaps if she pinched herself, she would wake up. But she didn't want to wake up. She wanted to stay in this dream world where she really felt truly happy. She had all of what she wanted. A beautiful house, a doting husband, and most of all, she was finally a parent. She had her son, the baby she was so close to having in reality. Reality is a harsh, sickening truth. She knew deep down that it was truly just a dream. Life never got this good, things never went this well for her. She didn't have a beautiful house, a doting husband, or her son she nearly held. In reality, she lived in a cramped studio apartment, the dick she stayed with decided to leave for another, younger woman, and the son she's always wanted, the one she was so close to having in her arms, passed before he could even take his first breath. As far as she was concerned, she could stay in this dream for the rest of her life.
The Hard Hit of Reality
I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't exactly surprised either. Maybe I'd seen it coming. At the very least I should have seen it coming. There had been signs, of course. I should have noticed when he stopped telling me how much he loved and missed me or when he stopped kissing me, randomly, and out of the blue. When sex started feeling more like a chore and not something we both enjoyed. We stopped talking so much about our future together and started arguing about our present more. Regardless, it doesn't make it hurt any less when you see something coming. You tell yourself it's going to happen; you start preparing yourself for when it does happen. Yet when it does finally happen, all the breath is sucked out of you. You cry, a lot. You beg and plead for him to stay, telling him you'll do whatever he wants you to do. He'll tell you it doesn't matter; he doesn't want a relationship and he wants to do his own thing. Well, I can tell you, he doesn't want a relationship with the one he'd been with but grew distant to. He wanted a relationship with a girl that would be a new kind of excitement for him. But again, I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't surprised either. The signs were there. I was just too naive, or maybe, too hopeful to see them.

Personal Haven, Tainted by Discovery
"How could you?" she asked, hands high in the air-and at first, I had no answer. There was no excuse for what I had done, and I wasn't about to make one up. But the one thing she didn't understand, the one thing I needed her to understand, was that I'm not a good person. I had told her this when we first got together, I tried to tell her, but she must have thought I was joking or something. Well, I wasn't. After being together for a year, I cared about her in the sense of I don't want anything tragic to happen to her, but I just don't care enough about her to stay. We wanted different things out of life too. She wanted a house, to get married, and to have kids. I wanted that too, with her even, up until things got mundane. It's the same thing with her every time we're together. We drive around, have something to eat, watch TV, or get physical. There is no excitement between us anymore. I'm bored. That's when I started going behind her back and seeing other girls. That rush, that excitement was back. I just couldn't get enough. It was addicting. But as all things must come to an end, so does this. She found out, saw the messages, pictures, even the videos. My own personal haven tainted by her discovery. I don't regret it though. Not even a little. We were going to end eventually anyways. At least now it'll be a little sooner. Oh well. I'm really not a good person.
Sickeningly, Sweetly, Sour
The taste on her tongue was equal parts sweet and sour. He came back. He kissed her, just like she wanted yet she felt something revolting instead of thrilling. He was sweet but she knew he wouldn't stay that way for long. He only wanted her for the rush right now. She was supposed to be a quick, easy high. Well, she wasn't going to get him high anymore. She would be the Narcan from now on instead of his own brand of dope. She hoped he suffered. She was going to make sure these withdrawals were Hell on Earth.

Gateway to the Soul
I said it and I meant it, and I was right. Still, I wish I could take it back, because there's no way I can make it up her, no way I can ever make her feel like we can ever be together after this. We really do feed off each other's anger and trauma. It's not healthy. But seeing the hurt in her eyes, the tears falling down her cheeks. God, I loved those eyes. I still do. They were one of my favorite things about her.
"I'm sorry. I've hurt you enough already. We feed off each other's negativity and that's not good. We need to see other people. I'm holding you back in life. I can't get my life started if I'm constantly worried about you. We need to go our own way."
I do mean it, every single word. Honestly, if we're not getting back together, I shouldn't worry or even try to make it up to her. She will eventually be a distant memory in due time. So why do I feel like I need to? It's her eyes. It's always been her eyes. Eyes are the gateway to the soul and hers are no exception.
