Scratch A New Face Into Mine

I know you all probably know me from my Metalocalypse fanart, and this 8 minute film is why I have been on a sort of fanart hiatus. I’d really appreciate it if you could all give this a watch, it’s truly a labour of love for me and my friend.

It is about a cracked doll, Bryer [animated by madison], living in a house full of never-ending trash in purgatory, getting constant body bags full off trash through a chute in the sky. When another doll, Valerie [animated by myself], comes in a body bag, they enter a toxic and codependent relationship as Bryer slowly swaps their parts. Eventually, Bryer finally tries to take her heart apart, and Valerie has to fight back to escape this purgatory. There is a lot of surreal visuals and symbolism in the film that is exploring how each of them see eachother and how Valerie changes under Bryers influence.

Scratch A New Face Into Me is a film I am so extremely proud of and so extremely proud of my friend Madison for collaborating with me on. Sorry for speaking for so long but I promise more Metalocalypse fanart is on the way! As I’ve been working on this project for the past few months I’ve had so many ideas. One thing I would like to thank Dead boy detectives (appart from the usual awesomeness!!) for is the bang on job they did on the soundtrack, not just the original one, but the songs that they used for some scenes!

Thanks to a post in a page that comments what songs are playing in the background of the show I got to meet the music of Mura Masa ft Slowthai.... The show uses short clips of 2 songs of them, one when the boys are being chased by the soldier in the hotel and then when Crystal is telling the boys how she met David...

Somehow, they're both very Charles core tbh ahahaha

This is COLOR OF A MIRROR, my debut novel with an original, dark ambient soundtrack by composer Josh McCausland to go along with it.

Written, designed, and published by me, it’s the culmination of years of work, and it’s exactly the story I wanted to tell. It’s not loud or bombastic, but rather a cerebral, slow-burn cyberpunk narrative lingering on themes of fame, paranoia, religion, and technology. If you’re a fan of the brooding futures of William Gibson, Blade Runner, or anything with a mood like the movie Drive, I think you’ll find something to love here.
