Golden Hour (featuring @skyward-floored 's Swamp Link!)
Everybody go check out @skyward-floored 's/Peggy's Zelda blog. Her writing is super character driven, and along with her many great one-shots there's this fantastic original Zelda story she's building that's currently titled "Swamp Link".
He's Link! He's the hero! And he's also a lovable goofball raised by Swamp Zora! That's not even mentioning that Hyrule is recovering from a mass river flood, tensions are high between groups of Zora and other races, a crazy group of magic ladies want to kidnap Link for his courage, Princess Zelda is an artist and such a great character too... Go take a look! Peggy has a masterpost here
Also Peggy I hope I did everybody justice! >_< I think I got all the colors right but I had to guess with Webs since he's only been described (that I could find) as having "darker fins". I hope purple is ok! Otherwise just imagine it's a different Zora kid.
⚠️💚 Please Comment, Like, and Reblog DIRECTLY from the original post!!! In light of Tumblr almost changing reblogs so original posters can’t see notes, this is the best way to make sure I see any comments, & lets me know you're reading/what you enjoyed! Just in case Tumblr does anything crazy again. I love to talk art/writing & answer questions! ^u^
A version without lighting effects is under the cut! (I kinda liked it so y'all get to see too!)
Link, Hero of Winter
Inspired by my answer to @rockinlibrarian’s ask for the weirdly specific art ask game! I was struck by this image of a young teen Link who lived in a snowy tundra coming across a Hyrulean gas lamp in the forest at the very start of his adventure (a la The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe). His adventure occurs as all of Hyrule is swept into a deep winter that will not lift, and cast into a gloom as the sun hangs persistently low in the sky like a polar winter. This Link lives in a village out in the Hebra Tundra, and is used to snow for most of the year. He hunts using his bow to support his village, and while he has roamed far across the snowy lands he has never before ventured into the rest of Hyrule. As part of his adventure he has to find and relight the sunlit lamps in each region to bring back the sun and help lift winters curse from the land.

Thank you @non-plutonian-druid for cheering me on again 🧡
Finally got a ref sheet together for all of my links (God I hate drawing full body poses xp) Glad I did it though some of these boys haven't been refined since the first comic I did like a year ago
(Relative Link heights with other non-Link characters subject to change as this artist is bad at drawing consistent heights at the best of times)
Full-length Height sheet and solo references under the cut!
Introducing : The hero of Justice !
I cannot draw to save my life so have a picrew to help you visualize him
Buddy is currently 16 ! He's got two adventures under his belt and a shitton amount of trauma !
Link was born in a world where a lot of History was unfortunately lost in several fires during dry summers and lack of care for the archives. A very long time has passed since any sort of evil rose, so much that it was relegated to the status of legends, events that may have happened before but who can say if they're accurate, right ? They took place so long ago, after all.
Which brings us to Link, aged 10, orphan of Castle Town, who one day follows soldiers out to a forest and comes out with One Legendary Sword. He's immediately taken in by the royal family and trained by the captain of the Royal Guard. That is, until the Peace Exchange with the Gerudo is brought on the table.
Over the past few decades, and centuries if we go back far enough, Hylians and Gerudo have been in conflict regarding the trading routes and land. Long story short, Hyrule wants to unify the country, the rare minerals and materials of the desert, while the Gerudo intend to keep their culture and refuse to bow to their expectations, to be rid of their individuality. To remedy to that endless feud, a Peace Exchange was made : every few years, a number of Gerudo will be sent to Castle Town to train alongside the Hylian army as well as learn their customs while a few Hylian men and women will be sent to Gerudo Town to do the same. Then, after the end of the current exchange, everyone go back to their home land and. The goal is to warm the relationship between the two people, and thus maintain peace as well as open discussion to better planned trading routes.
And that is how Link, young and unprepared for the expectations put on his shoulders that he has to be a prodigy because he pulled the legendary sword, is sent to Gerudo Town as The proof of good will and trust from the King.
Now, for the next three years, Link of Castle Town, Son of Nobody, will train under the personal tutelage of King Ganondorf, the strongest and most respected Gerudo of his time.
What ever could go wrong ?

FINALLY did this LOL. Feels like I'm doing one art of them per year at this rate, but they're a fun set to play with.
Not a ton of progress on Son of the Bonebreaker, but that's because I got sucked into @linkshipping-big-bang instead LOL.
But for now: This year's art of Melem & Zaal and little Zelda, from The Prince of Hyrule, my Original Legends fic about the first Calamity "10,000" years ago.
I wanted to color him
