Oregon Ducks land 4-star linebacker recruit out of Ohio State’s backyard
Oregon Ducks land 4-star linebacker Brayton Feister
The Oregon Ducks have landed a major recruiting win, securing a commitment from four-star linebacker Brayton Feister, a highly regarded 2027 prospect from Massillon, Ohio — right in Ohio State’s backyard.
Feister chose Oregon over Ohio State, Georgia and Cal, giving Dan Lanning and the Ducks another impressive recruiting victory. Ohio State had been a significant contender because of Feister’s proximity to Columbus and the Buckeyes’ strong linebacker tradition. (Yahoo Sports)
The commitment is especially notable because Oregon was the first school to offer Feister a scholarship, and his official visit to Eugene appears to have helped the Ducks build enough momentum to beat out the hometown powerhouse. (Land-Grant Holy Land)
Bottom line: Oregon just walked into Ohio State territory and came away with one of the region’s top linebacker prospects. For Lanning and the Ducks, it's another statement that their recruiting reach extends well beyond the West Coast.
