Honestly there are a lot I donât talk about much because I donât think theyâre particularly good, such as Vahal or Mica, or the ones I didnât end up using much, like Ayarie or Theya. Of the ones I actually care about, I donât talk about Caleb (**NOT WIDOGAST I HAD THE NAME FIRST) much for how much I love him :]Â Which is ironic given this blog is 99.999% DnD now and heâs my only worthwhile DnD character
Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)
UHHH ALL OF THEMâŠ. Probably Dathen, particularly in his Warcraft incarnation. I had a very difficult time not projecting all of my issues on him, but he got lots of sympathy for those issues, and it was veryâŠcomforting in an odd way. Particularly since looking back I have no idea how anyone put up with him/me lol. Iâm probably more attached to him than anyone else simply because of him being my oldest actually fleshed out OC
I also have woven in things that are personally very important to me into an assortment of OCs, such as Jiyonâs unabashed aroace-ness and found familyÂ
OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?
DEFINITELY Selk. His original idea actually came from the order of assassins mentioned in ASOIAF that would apologize to those they killed, with a side of âhow can I design this character to look as creepy as possible while theyâre really polite.â I never expected him to be cute or give people feelings in any way, shape, or form.
Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone theyâre going?
OrdhanâŠ.please grow a sense of self-preservationâŠ. Â

Acolyte: Fels, Jiyon, Selk, Matthew - Sage: Ordhan, Caleb - Soldier: Carson, Seo
*CRACKS KNUCKLES*
ACOLYTE -Â If your character were a deity, what would they be patron of?
THE FUN ONE okay letâs see
Fels - The god of calamity, new beginnings, and the edges of the winter season. Cracks in frozen lakes and flowers pushing through snow are considered his holy places. No one seeks his blessing, but it is considered polite to sing or hum near these places as a greeting.
Jiyon - Officially a god of fire, ambition, and wealth, Jiyon gets buried in a dozen more impressive deities of the same. He is most well known for being a patron of the willfully unmarried and celibate. While he has no clergy, claiming to be a âpriest of Jiyonâ is another way of saying âIâm happy the way I am, fuck off.â
Matthew - Just your everyday minor nature god. Virtually indistinguishable from any number of other nature gods, except for some confusion that heâs also a god of the hearth. Jumbled traditions resulted in his realm being where home meets nature, and sprigs of grass or flowers tied to a door latch or tucked under a mat is said to bring luck.
SAGE -Â If your character were to become a teacher, what subject would they teach?
Ordhan - Some kind of P.E. or sportsâŠboringâŠÂ In a perfect world, heâd have learned an instrument and would teach how to play it, but wouldnât touch on music theory or reading sheet music at all.
Caleb - THE TEACHINGS OF A CULT okay maybe a rambling mythology class digging into the most obscure stories possible, or a world religions course. If pressed, ancient history.
SOLDIER -Â What is your character willing to fight for?
Carson - If fight means strive, then knowledge, particularly freedom of knowledge and its practical application. If it means literal fisticuffs, it would be for his own survival, or a kneejerk impulse reaction to defending someone.
Seo - âŠNothing. Literally nothing. Probably not for anyone else, definitely not for himself. I donât think fight is even in his list of options for how to react to any situation, no matter how dire. Shift the meaning to âstriveâ and it could be said to be for his own stability and independenceâand even then itâs a stretch, since itâs mostly at the encouragement of others.Â
barely started playing the game and I'm already rolling in old-character feelings
god if Ordhan were still alive by the time the inquisition was remade, he would be on that in a heartbeat
I am downright flabberghasted at how identical his and Cassandra's alignments are and he would be making the exact same choices at this point, though with a lot less awesomeness (and from the place of a random knight rather than a Seeker commander)
I'm planning on an ordquisitor playthrough eventually so I can see the Cassandra romance and headcanon it as aro THEY ARE SUCH SOULMATES THOUGH W O W, but even with Eth's playthrough I love picturing him as being part of the inquisition camp somewhere, all dour and taciturn and silently overenthusiastic about his part in things
Fels: Â Your character has been granted 3 wishes, what would they wish for and why?
Fels would sit on these for literally months or years.  Heâd want to wish something for peace or end of the conflict, but then hem and haw over the wordingâwhat does âend of conflictâ mean?  One side winning?  A stalemate?  What happens to the Chiss?  Would everyone truly be safe or would it be a quiet misery?  Heâd try to keep one saved for an emergency, but being a medic and a soldier would be constantly guilty over not using it to turn the tide of a battle or to save a patientâs life.  It would be even harder not to use one each time Trisk is sent on a mission for the SIS.  In the end one would probably (after a ridiculous amount of reflection) go towards some sort of world peace wish and the other two would be stored up for his childrenâs safety (he needs one for each after all)
Skeli: Â How does your character perceive themselves? Â (Positive/neutral/negative)
An all-encompassing answer on this one is difficult because Skeli is a highly contrasting jumble of all of the above. Â Heâs very proud to be a Chiss but feels heâs a poor example of one; heâs proud of his mercenary skills but ashamed thatâs where he ended up. Â And then for other things, itâs shifted over timeâhe used to struggle a lot with his demisexuality, trying to blend in as much as possible and pretend away his true feelings, but as he got older worked through the sense of shame and is defiantly proud of the fact.
Ordhan: Â What are their best and worst school subjects?
Totally not gonna list five of each I dont even know if i can think of that many at once so hmmm.  Best by far would be P.E.  After that, academic things really arenât his strong suit, but heâd manage well enough in things like literature where he can just absorb and analyzeâthough he only would do well on works he gets really wrapped up in the story of, and maybe some poetry that gets to him.  Worst subjects would be everything else speech classes and anything that requires a lot of verbal communication.  Debate would probably be his biggest weakness, as not only is he really bad at talking, but is also impossibly stubborn and sees the world in black and white.  Heâd just end up silently glaring at whoever was disagreeing with him.
Seo: Â If he had one thing to say to his parents before they died, what would it be?
THIS QUESTION HURTS ME HOW DARE YOU
For his mother, it would be to apologize for waiting so long to find her again and for doubting her ability to keep him in her thoughts for so long. Â His father died when he was younger, so heâs had a lot of time to dwell on thisâthat he should have known that it would happen, that he should have warned him, that even as a child he should have been able to read the signs that they couldnât make their protection payments anymore and somehow prevented the retribution from happening. Â As he grew older (and more fatalistic) the thought that he could have prevented anything lessened and vanished, and he would simply have a goodbye.
After he escapes from the Sith, Selkâs network of friends starts branching out quite a bitâfirst was Dolun, of course, who introduced him to Dathen after suggesting he make a living as a smuggler. Â Dathen gets very very attached to literally anyone he makes friends with, and the fact that Selk considers him the Smuggler Expert and treats him as such certainly doesnât hinder that. Â Dathen, in turn, verrrrryy carefully lets Selk meet specific people in his own network, especially if he thinks it will help Selkâs own business get off the ground. Â
One of these is Ivy, Dathenâs aunt, who was captured by the Sith when she was a child, but abandoned the order years later. Â Dathenâs unfailing trust in those he considers family has him throwing caution to the wind.
Selk is very uncomfortable about meeting a fellow ex-Sith, not so much because he doesnât trust Dathenâs word that she wonât hurt him, but because he keeps lapsing back into how heâd act around other Sithânot making eye contact, speaking rarely and very formally, and so on. Â But the fact she notices this and actively works to help him speak to her as an equal goes a long way in helping him work through that perception of himself.
â - Â Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: Â Ordhan
Ordhanâs daily habits include keeping his living quarters as clean and tidy as if a military inspection were about to pass by any minute. Â When he starts sharing them with Declan and/or Nancy, this because exponentially more difficult. Â Itâs much harder to get a quarter to bounce off the sheets of the bed when thereâs a smuggler oversleeping in it surrounded by crumbs and ration bar wrappers.
He keeps threatening to make them do regular chores if they donât shape up, but never follows through with it. Â (the fact that Declan does all the cooking INCLUDING BREAD!! may have something to do with this)
â - Â Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: Â Fels
Fels is quite a bit less organized than people who know him might guess.  His bed is surrounded by a good twenty books he wants to keep within arms reach, and though bookshelf is always immaculately alphabetized (once in aurabesh, once in huttese, once in cheunh) it starts overflowing pretty quick and nearly any surface is at risk at becoming an impromptu bookshelf.  Though his tiny apartment can be pretty cluttered, he hates dirt and will move everything around in every direction to make sure the surfaces are cleanâŠbefore piling more books and holovids and datapads on them again.
⌠- childhood headcanon: Oswen
Oswen was very much an active troublemaker child, not because of actually wanting to break rules so much as THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER INTERESTING THINGS TO DO. Â He never liked reading much unless there was action in it, which usually ended with him putting the datapad down and trying to describe and act out the scene with one of his siblings. Â The same went for holovids, which would usually result in him trying to pull this grandmother or that great-uncle aside at family gatherings to show off the cool new moves he learned.
â -. old age/aging headcanon: Â Oswen
As he gets older, Oswen tries to stay as active in Jedi operations as he can (itâs hard to say whether the war is still going on at this point, but heâd still try to be working as closely with the military/planetary defense groups as possible).  Itâs easier and simplerâharder for a seasoned warrior to mess up an operation than it to be responsible for young lives being brought in as padawans.  But despite his misgivings about whether he should be trusted with that level of influence, he canât help but involve himself in the lives of Jedi-in-training.  This usually ends up more along the lines of trying to get them all to learn to fire a blaster and apply a medkit than helping them understand the Jedi code, butâŠhe was never any good at that kind of stuff anyway.  He kind of ends up being known as the grumpy old soldier-Jedi who might make you do push-ups if he catches you goofing off.

Original Dragon Age!Ordhan was the illegitimate son of a minor bann; though he stayed on the estate, between his natural quietness and the bannâs desire to keep him out of sight most of his siblings didnât know of his existance until he was a good five years old. Â At that point the oldest son, Nathaniel (it was before Awakenings came out okay Dragon Age stole it from me), took it upon himself to try to give Ordhan a good upbringing despite being just a young teenager at the time. Â Ordhanâs lifelong obsession with honor and honesty stems largely from wanting to be as much like his half-brother as possible and as unlike his father as possible.
This is similar enough between original and SWTOR ordhans I may as well do both at once! Â (AUs such as grouchy C-Sec turian fun police ordhan will have to wait) Â Just replace âbannâ with âAlderaanian minor noble houseââAlso there is no Nathaniel and no source of stability other than watching Republic recruitment propaganda holovids over and over and over and convincing himself that if he could just get away from home he could belong somewhere. Â SWTOR Ordhan being so much more volatile and vulnerable than his original incarnation grew out of there being literally no one to contradict his self-hatred for a good 20+ years.
Iâm sorry there is literally no such thing as a non-angsty Ordhan family headcanon
â -. old age/aging headcanon
Flipflops back to SWTOR!Ordhan because him growing old is literally my favorite thing (and DA!Ordhan kind of gets executed before that point oops)
By that time, Ordhanâs been discharged from the Republic military for quite a while (and thankfully has also undergone a fuckton of much-needed therapy).  Though his self-worth has moved away from hinging on how much he can do before he gets himself killed, he still hates being idle, and volunteers at any shelter or hospital within an easy shuttle ride of the apartment Declan got for him.  His lifelong admiration of the Jedi keeps him coming back to one in particular, where dangerkittyn's Stahnis and tallypants' Dolun tend the patients.  Wrapping bandages for hours on end while Dolun tries to wheedle war stories out of him becomes a frequent pasttime.
â -Â cooking/food headcanon
All Ordhans love baked goodsâfor the most part itâs the sweeter the better, but just a simple loaf of freshly-baked bread trumps everything else.
my eternal debate over whether I should just go ahead and make Ordhan (or at least swtor ordhan) aromantic
like
the only thing stopping me was his age-old starry-eyed crush on PERSONIFICATIONS OF JUSTICE AND MORALITY AND REPUBLIC PRIDE but it was already so intertwined with delusional idolization and wishful thinking about what he wishes more people in the universe would be like than anything.  He'd think he's alloromantic either way but hey I used to think I was alloromantic because of my extreme affection for video game characters weirder things can happen but it's never been something he could actually imagine himself involved in, partly due to his self-loathing but also because there's this huge disconnect between "this is what I picture my ideal life to be" and who he is as a person
his friendships are extremely important to him (too important, to the point of being unmistakably unhealthy, but I kind of like that they can be both imperfect and important) and he's always had the option to take them in a romantic direction but has always shied away from the thought
there are just so many ways it would fit
the biggest hesitation I have now is the fact that IÂ do like having an alloromantic character that is 100% satisfied with purely nonromantic relationships, that he wouldn't change the nature of those relationships for the world, and literally the happiest thing that happens to him is the fact that he gets to grow old with them
but at the same time that last part hits so much of a nerve with me (like the stuff this post talks about); he's physically disabled and struggles with mental illness (most of which stems directly from my own experiences), doesn't have kids or romantic partners, but still has people who care for him and look after his needs even when that can prove to be quite difficultÂ
like I already somehow ended up writing him as a personal aromantic wish fulfillment story without realizing it
