This tasty and healthful orange glazed tofu with Asian influences is ideal for a weeknight dinner. Enticingly crispy on the outside, the tofu is drenched in a sweet and tangy orange glaze.
Ingredients: 1 block extra firm tofu, pressed and cubed. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 1/4 cup orange juice. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 2 green onions, chopped for garnish. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish.
Instructions: In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, orange juice, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to make the glaze. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides. Pour the glaze over the tofu and stir until the tofu is evenly coated. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5-7 minutes until the glaze thickens and coats the tofu. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
