Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles. 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice. 1 large egg. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Zest of 1 orange. For the glaze:. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2-3 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice. Orange zest for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, rainbow sprinkles, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, freshly squeezed orange juice, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when touched. While the donuts are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and freshly squeezed orange juice until smooth. Once the donuts are out of the oven, let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Dip each cooled donut into the orange glaze, allowing any excess to drip off, and place them back on the wire rack. Sprinkle some additional rainbow sprinkles and orange zest on top of the glazed donuts for decoration. Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade Orange Glazed Funfetti Donuts!
