Legit question: If it wasnât Luke Hughes that scored two goals for the other team would people be so quick to defend him?
Because it seems to me that only certain players, like âLukeyâ, get the benefit of the doubt when they do things like this.
When players that people donât like have games like this Iâve seen reactions and comments that were a lot worse than what heâs getting. And everyone laughs and goes about their day.
Maybe I just live in an area where we donât give our professional sports teams a free pass when they suck. Iâve been to plenty of Bruins games where the team and players were booed throughout the game and game after game, like the end of last year when they were awful. Iâve never felt the need to boo because itâs not my style but I get the aggravation & annoyance that leads to it, especially when a team canât seem to improve year after year, like Devils.
Luke Hughes is an adult who makes $9M a year and itâs a fact to most that he, and plenty of others on that team, are under performing this year. He doesnât need to be âprotectedâ and âcoddledâ - heâs not 5!
I just donât get it because, even if my most favorite players did something like this, Iâd be thinking they were dumb asses too and calling them out.
Example , Mason Lohrei is my fav Bruin. Was he good last year? No. Is he better this year? Also, no. Will the Bruins probably trade him, maybe even before his contract is up? Yep. I still like him and think heâs adorable but facts are facts.
