♙: Sharing a bed:
“If you keep moving around, I’m going to have to hit you,” Theresa muttered between her teeth to the boy beside her. She rolled unto her side so that she could look down at him and rested one palm flat against his chest, the other propping her head up. “I’m trying to watch a movie, Lorenzo, and you are the epitome of distraction.” She punctuated the words with a poke of her finger before settling herself back down on the bed. She’d lied. She’d lost track of the movie’s plot fifteen minutes into it. Not that she could be blamed. She was laying in bed with a cute boy who smelled delicious and who blushed whenever she brushed her hand against him – something that she did often just because she enjoyed teasing him. So, really, who could blame her. “I like you a lot, Lorenzo Lacroix, but being in bed with you is like being in bed with a toddler.”
♟: Patching up a wound:
“Goddammit,” Camila hissed. The cut that ran the length of her palm wasn’t deep. She’d suffered far worse before, but for some reason it hurt like nothing she’d ever experienced. “You could be gentler,” she muttered to James as she swatted his shoulder. She hadn’t thought before she’d picked up the piece of broken glass from the bar top and now she was suffering the consequence. “Honestly, though, the person who decided that using alcohol to sanitize wounds was probably some sadistic asshole.”
♥: Your muse crying about something:
“I can’t understand a word you’re saying,” Chris said into the phone. He’d spent the last five minutes trying to decipher what his sister was trying to say but between the cell reception and her crying, he’d picked up every other word. If even that. “Yes, I sent you a signed copy of my book in the mail. What else was I supposed to do?” The publishers had asked him to do a book tour throughout the country promoting the book and naturally, he’d agreed, but that had meant that he’d had to send copies of his book to his family by mail. “I didn’t expect you to be so emotional about it. Now I’m terrified of how ma will react when hers arrives.”
♡: Accidentally falling asleep together:
Magdalena ran a hand through her long hair, groaning as her fingers caught in the knots. She was never this disheveled, but she’d been so tired after spending the entire day with Cara’s dance school that sometime between walking through the door and plopping down on the couch with Gray and Cara, she’d fallen asleep. “Wake up, angel face,” she said, resting her hand against her daughter’s face before nudging her shoulder into Gray’s. “You too, dance dad.” She hadn’t meant to fall asleep curled up against his side, but she’d been so tired that she simply hadn’t had time to think things through. Plus, falling asleep as a family felt natural. She could sit here and berate herself over something that she couldn’t change now or she could move on. “All right you two. Up and at it. Breakfast won’t make itself.”
