Due to the pandemic, three of planned meetings of my photographic studies in the Czech Republic were cancelled. Instead, there was an emergency meeting - this time not in the mountains, in Horni Becva, but at the University of Opava. Apart from defenses, last time I have been there for longer period of time was for entry exams. I tried to get through them for several years, always aimlessly hanging around the school on a June afternoon waiting for my turn. 30 minutes from there, on the Polish side of the border, is Racibórz, where I spent a large part of my childhood. A mixture of the excitement of being in a place that I associate with being 19 years old, being abroad after so many months in Poland, being in a place that I never have time to properly photograph, with time giving way to frustration that this time I will probably only take pictures on cigarette breaks.
