Quick moment of appreciation for Connie Maheshwaran, a desi girl in a cartoon who's not just brown-skinned but is actually drawn with desi features, showing that you can in fact have desi girl characters be fully developed, punchy, pretty love interests while also giving them The Nose. It meant (and honestly still means) a great deal to me to see people with my physical features represented in a way that didn't turn us into visual and narrative comedy fodder, especially considering even a show like ATLA couldn't resist doing that.
