The Middle Path Leaf Why Buy Oolong Teas Today
If you have ever felt stuck between the grassy, fresh punch of a green tea and the deep, malty comfort of a black tea, then you are ready to discover the world of oolong. For many tea drinkers, oolong represents the absolute pinnacle of the craft. It is often referred to as the tea lover’s tea because it occupies a massive middle ground of flavor that no other category can touch. When you decide…

Hey! Little Tea PSA
If you don't like green/white/oolong teas because of bitterness or acrid taste.
Try using water that is 80°C for Green tea and 60°-80°C for White and Oolong.
The leaves are steamed not roasted like black tea so using lower temp water often helps them taste better.
Experiment with how strong you like it. Personally I hover until the liquid has a colour and is fragrant and I take out the strainer. Some folks like to leave the strainer in for almost 4 minutes before taking it out. It's all preference.
Tea in bags tends to be more stale and the tea leaves are much more broken up. Loose leaf green tea is much smoother and less bitter than Green tea in a bag.
In expensive teas it's common to have 'footwater' which is when you pour hot water over the leaves and immediately take the strainer out to rinse off dust and impurities.
Experiment with where the teas are from as well! a Chinese green tea can be much different than a Japanese or Formosa teas.
Do you like grassy? Toasty? Earthy? Floral? If you are easily entertained try Genmaicha which has toasted rice in it and you can watch them puff up in the hot water.
If you HATE the Starbucks matcha? Well first off they use HOT as fuck water straight from the espresso machine and they don't use a bamboo whisk to froth it.
Fun fact if the hot herbal beverage you are drinking has no tea leaves from the tea plant in it. That is a Tisane not a Tea. A Chamomile Tisane or Mint Tisane.
Rooibos tea is a great no caffeine tea. I just can't handle the little flecks that always make it through the strainer.
Need more probiotics in your life but have feelings about yogurt or pickled things? Try Fucha tea it has probiotic cultures in it! though it comes in a brick you need to chip pieces out to brew it.
