Sumo tomorrow!!!! Graphic from reddit but here are my predictions :) My favs are aonishiki, onosato, yoshinofuji, atamifuji and shishi :D i also have unserious beef with kotozakura, hakunofuji and abi! I rlly hope Hoshoryu has rested up (and Onosato too ofc) and has a better showing this month!!
The day 14 bouts in Kyushu were nuts. I was watching the NHK English commentary highlights broadcast on my phone in the fucking supermarket (I'm not doing my grocery run during regular shopping hours during Thanksgiving week, I might be a masochist but even that is too much for me) and I had to try to NOT scream in the damn store.
The Ura vs Tobizaru match was SOOOO good! I cannot remember the last time I saw Tobizaru be so goddamn strategic in a bout! My dude, my darling Flying Monkey, can you bring that to the dohyō more than once per bashō? And Ura! Calm and collected with some of the best damn body awareness in the game! I was so stoked to see him get that 8th win that I did loose my cool and jump up and down in the produce aisle.
The yūshō race is still a three-way tie!!! Aonishiki has had an amazing year and seeing him win would be monumental, there is no doubt that he'll make it to Ozeki next year, but he's not who I want to see win. I love Onosato but I REALLY want to see Hoshoryu raise the Emperor's Cup. I want a play-off so badly! The dramaaaaaaa!!!!!
