CĂŠsar DĂaz x Male Reader

I guess you donât have to have watched the show to read but itâd make a lot more sense cuz im dead not starting from the beginningđ¤đż
there was posed to be more to this but yeah y'all donât know thatđ§đż. . . . first actual post so wassup? I take criticism so donât think we gon tussle or sum
Egg driping from his shoulder, Cesar rapidly typed on his keyboard. He could hear his friends bickering in the background.
âJamal, get a Lyft?â Ruby asked said male. Jamal looks up from the fake sling bag hanging loosely from his forearm.
âMy dad said Lyft was only for emergenciesâŚâ he urgently replies.
âSeriously!? What exactly constitutes as an emergency?â Cesar pockets his phone after sending his last message and lifts his head to look at everyone in the group.
âDonât get a Lyft. Itâs handled.â Cesar turned on his heels, heading back to the Halloween party they left minutes prior. With newfound determination, he walks straight up to the phony santos white boy. Noticing people looking behind him the boy turns around to be faced with Cesar. He chuckles and holds his arms out to his sides.
âYou want some more?â He questions Cesar with a grin displayed on his face. Cesar rocked on his feet giving the boy a glare from head to toe.
âOooh, you think youâre hard. Okay.â Leaning his shoulders back and eyebrows up, he taunted the latino in front of him, still harboring a cocky attitude.
âNah, Iâm not.â Cesar states while shaking his head, never breaking eye contact with the offending party.
âBut he is.â The engine of a black 1964 Chevy Impala Convertible can be heard pulling up behind Cesar. He finally he averts his eyes to look back at the car rolled up behind him. Stepping out from the car and slamming the door, youâre hardening glare immediately met with the paled face of the white boy. Cesarâs lips twitch upwards watching as you hastily step around the car, towards the imposter.
Coming face to face with the male, you watch as his eyes flicker from the cross tattoo peeking from under your tank top , to the teardrop sat just below your eye. The surrounding area is silent apart from the strained breathing of the boy. Noticing the eyeliner drawn tattoo you curtly scoff with an amused expression before returning to the mug. Lifting your thumb to your mouth, you wet it and harshly swipe away the marking on his cheek. Using your index and middle finger you rub at your own, once again looking directly into the maleâs eyes.
âYou playin dress-up but this shitâs real.â You step up closer, brows furrowed, watching the facade completely slip away.
âPlease. What do you want?â The trembling form in front of you pleaded. You quickly glance back at Cesar before smirking down at the scared male.
âGot sum to drink?â

On My Block
On My Block is a coming-of-age story that works through the battles that come from living in the hood. Jamal, Monse, Reuben, and Cesar are a crew, best friends from before the show began. Theyâre each from different backgrounds, Monse having grown up without a mom, Jamal who has been living a lie to make his parents proud, Reuben (Ruby) who is too smart for his own good, and Cesar whose family is part of the local gang and in turn, force him into that lifestyle. This story relates to the screenings and readings by establishing a unique perspective with diversity at its core.Â
From top to bottom: Ruby Martinez, Cesar Diaz, Jamal Turner, and Monse Finnie.
The characters throughout the show focus on their ability to be friends against hardships. The first season focuses on Cesar and his life inside the gang. The crew knows that this life isn't for Cesar and they do everything to help him. This type of life they live all relates to a cultural identity: a shared home, language, and even cultural barriers. Cesar, Jamal, Ruby, and Monse would do everything to protect one another, even if it meant danger for themselves. I think that speaks to their ability to adapt to their rough environment which can be attributed to the stereotypes that come with being Hispanic and Black.
Although this show focuses on four main characters, one character, Monse stands out among the rest. Monse identifies as multiracial: sheâs Black, Latinx, and White. This weekly reading is about multiracial and mixed-persons. Being mixed in this country has many connotations and the article addresses how many students struggle with their cultural identity because they are multiracial. For example, in the NYTimes article written by Susan Saulny she writes, â..But, he continued, âI donât even like to identify myself as a race anymore. My family has been pulling me in two directions about what I am. I just want to be a person.â.â (Saulny, 2011) It can be hard not knowing as well, Monse didnât grow up knowing her mom or her heritage, but learning about that side also gave her a new perspective. She got to appreciate both sides, which is very similar to the reactions the students got when they realized they could celebrate themselves, not based on what they identify as, but just because they are there. UWMâs own Professor Gregory Jay once stated, ââRace,â then, can be socially constructed by marginalized groups as a vehicle for self-understanding, political resistance, and cultural affirmation.â (Jay, NA) Professor Jay means that groups like Monseâs can view race as a common ground rather than a diverging point.
GIF: Cesar (the one with the gun) was threatened (by the guy in the jacket) in a drive-by. The one in the jacket pulled a gun on him. Cesar's brother determined Cesar's best bet at living would be killing the other guy first. This isn't what Cesar wants. This scene depicts what I think can be seen in real life. I've never experienced it, but drive-bys and gang violence are real. They happen, and this scene shows what can occur if someone doesn't really want to participate but is at risk if they don't.
This next scene (shortened on YouTube), is an honorable mention for me. When it comes to racial identity or ethnic identity, this show doesn't explicitly touch on those topics. It's a given when the show features an entirely diverse main cast. However, this scene specifically plays into the intersectionality that was explored in this course. Socioeconomic status is always a topic that arises when dealing with racial disparity and identity. The Halloween scene is the first time the audience sees the characters outside the hood. They go to Brentwood, the preppy, rich neighborhood. The people in this neighborhood are almost entirely white and of a higher socioeconomic status than the main characters. As the scene will show, there's hostility between the poor and the rich kids based mainly on where they grew up and how they lived. I mentally noted this scene specifically as being one that screams importance regarding racial identity and status.

âAlright babe, so youâre telling me that you donât believe in aliens or anything extra terrestrial.â
âNo.â
For the past 20 minutes, you were having a conversation with Oscar about some conspiracies you were researching the night before while he was making lunch. Today was his day off from anything Santos related, especially judging by the lack of notifications coming from his phone. Days like this were more on the rare side so it was only right that you cherished them for what it was and made it interesting.
âI just donât believe aliens are gonna come down and pluck us up one by one. Iâm sorry.â Oscar put the final touches on your lunchâcevicheâand set everything down onto the table for you to start digging in.
âOk, no aliens. So.â You said as you plopped a tortilla chip into your mouth. âWhat about Big Brother?â
âWhat the hell is that?â
âBig Brother is another name for the government. Thereâs been a bunch of conspiracies saying that they pretty much do a whole bunch of âunethicalâ shit like listening in on your convos through smart devices and shit. Thatâs probably why youâre on your second strike.â You said jokingly.
You know damn well, as you long as youâve known Oscar, technology was never really his strong suit. If he did get caught by the Feds, itâs usually because something or someone slipped up, at least from what youâve seen since youâve been with him. He only ever really used his phone to conduct business and to get into contact with you when heâs away dealing with Cuchillod. But now that you're borderline living with him, personal usage is slowly fading away.
âYeah yeah yeah.â Oscar grumbled under his breath, mouth full of ceviche and tortilla chips.
âItâs okay, Oscar. Youâre still new to technology.â You said in a baby voice as you mocked him, going to grab his cheeks and make kissy faces at him. You see him roll eyes as his entire being exudes annoyance. He finally had enough as scooped you up in his arms and put you over his shoulder.
âWe want to be funny today huh?â He said, taking a quick smack to your ass. You knew at that moment, at the end of Oscarâs wrath, you were bound to end up with your back blown out.
-
The next day became more of a gloomy one compared to yesterday. It was cloudy outside with a steady, continuous downpour of rain and to add on that, you were alone in bed. It was only right that you assumed Oscar was out doing some business for the Santos.
You rolled out of bed with a huff and looked at the time on the alarm clock in your nightstand. 1:30 P.M.
As soon as you put on your slides, your stomach grumbles in hunger. Unfortunately, Oscarâs absence meant that you had to cook for yourself. Your chef skills lacked variety as the only things you could make that tasted somewhat decent were bacon, eggs, and French toast. Of course, it was nothing like Oscarâs but it was still something. After eating, you showered and got dressed for the day. Due to the nasty weather and chill temperatures, you settled with sweats and a t-shirt. Itâs not like you were planning to go outside anyways.
Time seemed to move really damn slow as you scrolled through your phone. As of right now, TikTok has seemed to grab your attention. Laughing at videos from quen.blackwell, you took it upon yourself to make videos on your own.
Too busy ârenegadingâ and âsavagingâ, you didnât notice Oscar walking through the door.
âHaving fun I see.â Oscar smirked, his accent coming out heavy.
Startled, you trip over yourself and struggle to conceal your phone in an attempt to act natural.
âHey babe. Back so early?â You awkwardly smiled.
There was a heavy pause that can only be described as trying that lingered in the air for what seemed like an eternity before Oscar spoke again.
âIâm going in the kitchen now babe.â Oscar said as he threw you one last look, a concerned one, as if he was relieved to get out the madness that he called his girlfriend. Later that night, you two made dinner and watched a movie. You had convinced him to watch your favorite movie, Five Feet Apart. Knowing your boyfriend, he argued that you guys should watch an action or horror movie but chose to instead, being the best boyfriend in the entire world, chose to watch what you wanted. Of course, making it up to him at a later time.
