Secret Boyfriend
Yeo Hwanwoong X Fem!Reader Pt2/???
Y/N POV
“No, Grammy, he is nowhere near my boyfriend. He isn’t even my friend!” I say in defense as I start washing vegetables with my grandmother in the kitchen for dinner.
“He is very handsome; you should get to know him,” Grammy said as my grandfather walked in.
“What’s all this commotion? I hear my granddaughter has a boyfriend.” Papa said, taking a seat at the table.
“He isn’t my boyfriend; he just walked me home to explain to Grammy why I was in detention.” I stated, getting slightly frustrated with the word ‘boyfriend’.
“Detention? Why the hell were you in detention?!” Papa said, sounding irritated.
“I just got caught up in the crossfire with other students; I didn’t do anything specifically.” I lie, not wanting my grandfather to make a scene out of practically nothing.
After dinner, I head up to my room to get some space; after today, I really needed it. Just as I’m about to lie down, I get a FaceTime call from Asia.
“Hey girl! How was school? I have the craziest story to tell you!” She said with a smile on her face.
“It was interesting to say the least. What’s going on with you?”
“So after school, literally an hour ago, I was about to leave, and there was this guy in front of my school beating the shit out of Yuko!” She said, piquing my interest.
I didn’t know much about Yuko other than that he is the tallest guy at her school, he is a junior, and regardless of me being older than him, even the thought of a 6’9 high school student scares me.
“Who was the guy kicking his ass? Must be a Titan!” I say, laughing slightly, as I set up my camera.
“No! He was shorter, a lot shorter!” Asia said, standing up and putting her hand only slightly over her head to compare measurements, that she has always been taller than me. I am 5'2 ", and she is 5'4". Not a huge height difference, but still a difference.
“Oh wow, the guy must be talented and very physically strong”
“Maybe! I have a video and a couple pictures! It’s absolutely sick!” Asia said as she typed away on her phone.
I grab my phone and walk downstairs to get some water. I find that Grammy and Papa aren’t here, and I see a note on the table.
‘Going out to eat with some friends, be back soon, little flower - Love, Papa’
I grab a glass and start filling it with water as I continue to hear Asia keep talking on the phone.
“Look at what I just sent you!” She said, making me pick up my phone mid-sip of water. My eyes grew wide in shock, making me gasp, and the water came out of my nose, causing me to cough uncontrollably.
That picture showed Hwanwoong beating a kid from a completely different school. The guy who was at my house almost 2 hours ago left and went to start violence at his next pit stop?
“Y/N, are you ok?!” Asia said, seeing me wipe my teary eyes and my now wet nose with a rag.
“I know him, that guy,” I said, continuing to clean up the mess I had made.
“Really? Does he go to school with you?”
“Yeah, he is one of the guys that started picking on me; he literally just left my house 2 hours ago,” I said, making Asia have a confused look on her face.
“Wait, why was he at your house?” She took a pause and then gasped, “Oh my god, are you guys a thing?” She said, making me slightly irritated, 'cause I’ve already had this conversation with my grandparents.
“No, I got detention cause of him and his stupid friend, so he decided to come over and apologize to my Grammy. He isn’t and never will be even close to being a ‘thing’ with me.” I say, slightly irritated.
“Ah I see” she said with a big grin on her face.
I won’t lie, she made me laugh a bit, but I don’t understand why everyone keeps assuming this absolute jerk is my boyfriend.
While lost in my thoughts, I was snapped out of it by a loud ping coming from my phone: ‘WoongKn0wsP3ak has started following you on Instagram. Seeing that pop-up on my phone made me groan as I immediately opened Instagram and saw a message from him.
‘I’ll have the guys leave you alone.’ The message read. I double-tap the message, giving it a heart, not having the energy to send anything back.
That night, I lay in bed trying to get myself to fall asleep, but for some odd reason, someone kept crossing my mind, Yeo Hwanwoong.
I woke up the next morning gasping in a puddle of sweat in my sheets. The same nightmare I’ve been having ever since my parents passed away.
I immediately got up, took the sheets off my bed, and put them in my clothes hamper, planning to take them downstairs to be washed when I got home from school.
I started getting dressed, putting on a slightly oversized black hoodie and black shorts. After debating what to do with my hair, I decided to straighten it.
Halfway done straightening my hair, I hear my Grammy and another pair of feet walking up the stairs to my room.
“Y/N, you have a visitor!” Grammy said, opening my bedroom door.
I turn around to find my Grammy smiling with none other than Yeo Hwanwoong standing in my doorway.
“H-Huh?!” I gasp.
“I’ll leave you two alone,” Grammy said, practically giggling as she walked back down the stairs.
“Cute bedroom, Y/N.” Hwanwoong said teasing me.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I ask.
“Thought I’d walk you to school.” He responded, taking a seat on my bean bag chair.
“Why though?”
“You are burning your hair.” He said making me gasp.
I was in such shock that I forgot I was straightening my hair.
I gasp, pulling away with my hair straightener, and just like that, half of my front piece of hair burns clean off.
“WHA-“ I gasp with eyes widened in panic.
“Well, I think bangs would be cute on you.” Hwanwoong said with a sly smirk on his face. I then throw my hair brush at him.
I ran to the bathroom mirror, looking at how bad it was, and it was definitely noticeable.
“Want help?” Hwanwoong asks walking in the bathroom.
“How would you help me? My hair is burnt off.”
“Trust me. Get me some scissors.” He said. At first I was hesitant, but I then opened the bathroom cabinet and pulled out some scissors and a comb.
“You fuck up my hair, and I will shave you bald,” I say, handing him the scissors and comb.
He then got to work with my bangs and I can’t lie being this close to him made my heart pound practically out of my chest for some reason, he smelt amazing and I knew he was handsome but seeing him up this close was so ethereal feeling.
Just then me and him made eye contact, there was something in his gaze I couldn’t read but it intrigued my curiosity.
“Um, I’m done with your hair..what do you think?” He said breaking eye contact as I turn to look and to be honest I didn’t hate it, it suited me a lot.
(Hairstyle/Bangs he gave her)
“Wow, I actually kind of like it,” I said with a small smile on my face.
“Glad to hear it. Now come on. I’m sure your grandmother doesn’t want you to get detention again for being late to class.” He said, having me lead the way downstairs.
I grab my school bag and slip on my shoes as I walk out the door with Hwanwoong behind me.
Once we get in front of the school, Hwanwoong pulls me to the side.
“Don’t tell anyone I walked you home and to school.” He said in a strict tone.
“Oh, ok,” I say as he walks away.
I see him head straight towards his group of friends; I wasn’t bothered by him not wanting his friends to know how good he has been to me. His whole thing was to keep a straight face and show no form of remorse.
In my second period, we were all sent to the library to start our writing project, and the issue is that the whole essay had to be in Korean, which was difficult for me.
“You look good.” I hear someone whisper in front of me.
I move my computer out of the way and see Seoho in front of me writing on a piece of paper.
“Thanks,” I said, still feeling salty about yesterday.
“Thanks for not purposefully ratting us out yesterday.” He said, grabbing his things and moving to another table, which was probably for the best.
Just then, my phone pinged, and it was a message from Hwanwoong: a photo. I clicked it, and it was a picture of me from a distance, typing on my computer with the caption ‘I see youuuu’.
I turn around and see Hwanwoong at the library entrance, making me roll my eyes and smile. He then makes a signal, saying, ‘Come here,’ with his hands. I roll my eyes once more and go to ask a teacher to use the restroom.
Once I walked out of the library, I saw Hwanwoong giggling like a little kid. It was cute.
“What are you doing? You are supposed to be in class!” I say, slightly laughing.
“I got bored of hearing Mr Lee’s boring voice.” He said, walking backward in front of me as I followed him.
“So why come get me?”
“Is it wrong to hang out with my secret pal?” He asks, making me raise my eyebrow.
“PAL? Are we friends now? Wow, that was quick.”
“Whatever, don’t worry about that. I wanna show you something!” He said, taking my hand and pulling me towards a large flight of stairs.
After all those stairs, we make it to the roof of the school building. I’ve never been up here because it is strictly forbidden for students to come up here.
“We are going to get in so much trouble, Hwanwoong!”
“You need to let loose and live a little.” He said taking a seat and patting the spot next to him.
I take a seat next to him with my knees close to my chest and my arms wrapped around them.
“What makes you so interested in me now after all this time?” I ask making Hwanwoong look over at me.
There was a long moment of silence as he just looked at me, examining my face before he fixed his posture and made direct eye contact with me.
“Seeing you cry yesterday not only made me feel slightly guilty but also made me see something- something I want to know more about.” He stated.
“What does that mean?” I say, confused by the statement.
“Do you not find yourself interesting? There is so much I want to know about Miss Y/N.” He said, making me laugh a little. It was like he made me feel special.
“Well, what do you want to know?”
“Hm, well, for starters, where did this come from?” He pointed to a bruise on my leg.
I laughed a bit before I responded, “That’s from when I fell off a bike about a year ago.”
“And this one?” He asked, pointing to a scar on my hand.
“Kitchen knife accident,” I said out of slight embarrassment.
“What about that one?” He said, moving my hood slightly out of the way, pointing to the large scar on my neck.
I froze knowing what scar he was talking about. The scar I got the day of the accident. I started to tear up slightly but had to pull it back in because I can’t show weakness, not right now at least.
“A car accident a couple of months ago.” I say pulling my hood back over it.
He knew that showed I didn’t want to talk about my scars anymore.
“Sorry.” He said backing off.
“It’s ok.” I say looking up at the sky, drifting away in thought.
I feel so ashamed, so sad, so angry at everything that has happened, but for some reason, this boy is making me feel comfortable in so many ways.
“You should hang out with me after school.” Hwanwoong said breaking my thoughts.
I look over at him, and he is still looking at me the same way he was before.
“I don’t know if I should; I’ve seen what you do after school hours,” I said, making his face scrunch in confusion.
I then pull out my phone and show him the photo Asia sent me yesterday.
“Oh, that was just me showing him who’s boss, I don’t do that on the regular.” He said brushing it off like it’s no big deal.
I tried to hold in my laugh but I couldn’t, I burst out laughing at him and he looked confused at first but then started laughing along with me.
After a few jokes we both calmed down, we accidentally lock eyes and it’s like time just stopped.
“You know, I haven’t been able to talk to anyone like this in a long time,” he said brushing a strand of hair out of my face making me turn slightly red.
“Same here,”
There was silence but it felt so full, our eyes reading each other like a book they are fully into.
“Y/N, do you believe in-“ he was then cut off by a teacher who came up to the roof.
“Both of you are in so much trouble!” The woman said as we both got up and followed her to the principal’s office.
