Garmadon family Christmas oneshots đ˛ Day 8- Feeling of home
Lloydâs spending his first Christmas away from Darkleyâs. He wonders how he used to celebrate Christmas with his mum and dad. Luckily, he has friends now.
âMum⌠DadâŚâ Little Lloyd sighed as he watched through the window. He wished he remembered them.
How did they used to spend Christmas? Did they spend Christmas together at all?
âLloyd,â Wu slowly approached him. âAre you well, my nephew?â
âYeahâŚâ Lloydâs lips trembled. âJust thinking about ChristmasâŚâ
âYou have us.â Wu gently caressed his shoulder. âYou are not aloneââ
âDid I used to spend Christmas withâŚâ Lloyd pressed his head against the window, pretending to be fascinated by the way the snow was falling so slowly.
âYour parentsâŚâ Wu took a deep breath as he started walking around the room, fixing things that were already in their places. âAre you sure youâre ready to hearââ
âI donât knowâŚâ Lloyd closed his eyes. He imagined the warmth of a family home, joy and laughter everywhere⌠He could feel arms around him and see Christmas lights. In the ovenâ
âLloyd!â Wu was suddenly right at his side. âAre you well?â
âYeah.â Lloyd raised his head and stared into the distance. âJust daydreamingâŚâ
âOh, Lloyd.â Wu followed his gaze, though it led nowhere. âYour father was always so excited about Christmas, and your mother⌠ah⌠She wasnât really, but she always did her best to make you and your father happy.â
âThanks, Uncle!â Lloyd suddenly stood up. âNow, why donât we train?â
âNow?â Wuâs eyes widened. âAh, I get it. No need. Just come to the kitchen and enjoy time with your friends.â
âOkay.â Lloyd took a deep breath and followed Wu.
He almost smiled as he stepped into the light and warm, fragrant atmosphere.
âCâmon, little one.â Kai patted the space next to him. âGet some hot chocolate.â
âThanks!â Lloyd smiled and joined them.
For the first time he could remember, his Christmas wasnât spent alone in a dark, cold room.
Maybe he wasnât able to remember Christmas with his parents, but at least he had this now.
A place to belong.
Friends to laugh with.
And the feeling of home.
