remember there was this moment where the initial design needed to be put down at late stage during construction. diner benches doesn’t always need to be heavily stuffed with cushion, especially when one can’t pick a matching chair that equally “foamy” . but that doesn’t mean it can’t be comfortable… with the right ergonomic angle & sizes, one still can achieve reasonably comfort & style . when budget is in concern & you still insist to make it less generic, do consider design it as modular pieces but with 2-3 length variation, allows you to simplify workmanship, reduce material wastage, ease for transportation . #撩两嘢 #onceuponasketch #sketch #artline #workinprogress #interiordesign #restaurantdesign #atchling https://www.instagram.com/p/CSJJHcBpYwD/?utm_medium=tumblr

there’s always someone approaches and tell you their passions to make their plot of land beneficial to society while being hip & makes money... then you all heat up & put some crazy ideas in but that someone eventually just says they hope to build something more conventional, less risky, “practical”, & easy to get returns . 100% of the time less ambitious things got built... there were no hip, not commercially succeed, and not benefiting society whatsoever... turned out you’re just #overthinking things . look back on one project proposed in 2014, though the idea was not taken, but i’m actually glad that it was built anyway with a totally different approach, which is better than none, and still sustaining. i hate doing laundry. In past years i sent them out & came back with dry & folded clothes but my then-girlfriend skeptical about letting other people wash our clothes, so we bought a washer dryer . problem came where we can’t find a suitable place for it & i can’t let the washer drain to the floor where my cats dwell . so i made this purfect rack . all constructed of 50x50mm m/s L-angle for rigidity, bolted to the walls which tested by 3 adult stood & danced on it . again, i used the unwanted concrete drain covers as platform where the washer stands . the washer works as fine as it should be on the floor except it is now lifted 2ft from floor where not only the cats still gets their same dwelling space but also gain the viewing deck in top of the washer . for someone who uses a washer with dryer knows that its drainage has to be maintained at certain height, this elevated design allowed me to drain the water thru the window gap into the bathroom directly behind without needing to hack for outlet . i killed several birds using this one stone . metalwork by #midorinteriors . #撩兩嘢 #onceuponasketch #sketch #artline #constructiondetails #constructiondrawing #interiordesign #atchling (at Studio Hatch) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNmdGhXJihK/?igshid=1w4snu1nvvq91
