me personally?
i listen to music (i've made playlists for each of my characters so sometimes that helps), i write little drabbles and prompts set in my story's universe, and i just write. just start. you can always edit it out later :)

okay, so do you have any advice for a beginning writer (*cough* i'm referencing me) and way that I can improve? uwu;;
aaaaaaaaaaaaaalright bro. you came to the right place. (ok, not really the right place, but more of a semi-decent place)
i've been writing for a very very long time and literally the only advice i can give is write. write all the time. write down song lyrics and write fanfic and write terrible original stuff 'cause you gotta write and edit terrible stuff so you can move on to decent stuff and then you'll find your style and voice and aaannd
idk man. it's all just a process. just don't give up, don't ever tell yourself that you're a failure and that you can't do it (you're definitely not a failure, and you definitely CAN do it. you've been telling and consuming stories ever since you were able to).
and read. read everything. read the genre you want to write, read nonfiction, read the backs of cereal boxes. write. read. love what you do. the end.
