As the internal crisis within the Trinamool Congress deepens, party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has reportedly written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging him to recognize the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) only as a single and united parliamentary party. The move comes amid claims that rebel MPs are attempting to form a separate bloc and seek independent recognition in Parliament. In his letter, Abhishek is said to have requested that no faction claiming to be the “real TMC” be granted official status or privileges. With the party's power struggle now reaching Parliament, all eyes are on the Speaker's next move.
