You were already tired, and it was only the second day.

Today, you were sitting in a café with an old friend, trying to catch up like normal people do. Except nothing about this was normal. People around you kept staring and whispering. Even your friend was sweating nervously.

“Are those… necessary?” your friend asked carefully, pointing at the peacock calmly sitting beside you.

“Yes,” you answered right away, not even hesitating. You're lucky you both can find a cafe that is pet friendly.

They shrugged slowly. Somehow, you had gotten weirder since the last time they saw you. Maybe that “long trip” really did something to you. Before they could say more, the peacock suddenly made a loud noise and started pecking your cheek and head, clearly demanding attention.
