you reblogged one of my star city posts with "maybe it will be worth the eventual ΠΊΠ»ΡΠΊΠ²Π°" and I looked up the translation of that word and it said "cranberry" so i am now desperate to know what it actually means in this context
skskskskd sorry for the confusion!
Π Π°Π·Π²Π΅ΡΠΈΡΡΠ°Ρ ΠΊΠ»ΡΠΊΠ²Π° aka wide-branching cranberry is an idiomatic oxymoron that refers in a humorous way to all the nonsense stereotypes about and unfaithful representation of Russia. Stuff like John Wick being called Baba Yaga (it makes no sense!!!), or the entire Black Widow movie.
It's sort of a meme, but a really old one? Like the first mention of it is from 1871, where a Russian journalist makes fun of a French tourist telling tall tales about sitting Γ lβombre dβune klukva, that is in the shade of cranberry - which makes no sense, since cranberry is a teeny tiny bush (at least in Russia, idk about other places).
But even in that article the journalists says smth like "it reminds me of those blessed times when the French would say [see above]", so it must've been an established impression for quite a while by 1871.
All this to say that I want to see the doomed and toxic space yuri so bad, especially because it's situated in Russia!! I just need to prepare myself for the ΠΊΠ»ΡΠΊΠ²Π° lol
