Truly stunning BMW Repost from @classydrivers •#Gablelicious Retro BMW 507 by @abimelecdesign This is an incredible rendering of what the artist feels the iconic BMW 507 could be today in a more performance flavoured package. The virtual BMW 507 has a beautiful design, no roof and a V8! The BMW 507 was a roadster produced from 1956 - 1959. Initially intended to be exported to the United States at a rate of thousands per year, it ended up being too expensive, resulting in total production of just 252 cars and heavy financial losses for BMW. Intended to revive BMW's sporting image, the 507 instead took BMW to the edge of bankruptcy, and the company's losses for 1959 were 15M Deutsch Marks. BMW was losing money on each 507 built. The BMW 507 was conceived by U.S. automobile importer Max Hoffman who, in 1954, persuaded the BMW management to produce a roadster version of the BMW 501 and BMW 502 saloons to fill the gap between the expensive Mercedes-Benz 300SL and the cheap and underpowered Triumph and MG sports cars. The 507 never competed in any notable racing event and was more of a GT car for wealthy individuals. It was never built as a couple like the 300SL. The 507 is probably best known for the fact that Elvis Presley also owned and drove two. Of the 252 cars that were built, it is estimated that around 220 are still in existence. Market prices of the 507 can even trump the ones of the 300SL and reach heights of +$2M. И ещё ракурс, на котором уже становится понятно, что перед нами "Беха" :) BMW 340i, 1950 г.в. Разброс цен на подобное разумеется огромен. Тут всё зависит от состояния, оригинальности з/ч, отсутствие "колхоза". Этот экземпляр очень даже бодр. Кто "загорелся", готовьте от 650 000 до 8 млн руб! В продаже есть несколько автомобилей. Что самое интересное. От взрослых тачек пахнет стариной, и эта не исключение. Учуять её за полтора км как старые москвичи, ЗИЛы, Волги и пр раритеты не выйдет. Но стоить сесть в салон... Лично я не фанат какого-либо раритета. Олдскулл фетиш мне не близок.
