I was actually planning on sharing this one later >u< But yes, this was an older concept of a Pokémon x CCS Clear Card crossover I made where I imagined what the show would be like in the Pokémon world.

In this older concept, I had the idea that she just had Pokémon in these Clear Balls - Sylveon, Carbink & Klinklang came from the more clockwork / crystalline vibe the Clear Cards have, & Klefki because Sakura’s magic wand is usually a little key. I didn’t pick the last 2, but I was playing with Cherrim (for “sakura” 🌸) & Sunny Castform to represent Keroberos! ☀️ The rest of the Cards could just be like in her boxes, or IDK.

This might be Tally’s first thought up design after deciding to make them an announcer!

Instead of a checkered tie it was their entire blazer! But it made their design too busy and not easy to draw so I moved it to their tie!

“Rightful Owner of the Chaos Emeralds”

Rouge takes the role of Knuckles; Shadow’s best friend and protector of the Master Emerald.

However, Rouge is a bat who was adopted by the Echidna Tribe, making her an honorary Echidna. When her family went extinct, she made a vow to return her clan’s kindness by devoting her life to protecting the Master Emerald and hunting for the seven chaos emeralds.

Personality

She tries to put up a stoic yet feral personality for the sake of being the guardian of the Master Emerald. She has the prowess of a leopard and is extremely cautious and paranoid about everyone. However, when she’s relaxed enough, she has a batty/catty personality, often meanly teasing those she doesn’t see as threats.

Appearance Changes

The hearts on her boots is rose-gold metal and has spikes. Wears spikes on her shoes for her kicks and her white gloves are replaced with bandages

The cuffs of her boots and gloves are rose gold and pleated.

Fun AU Facts

Rouge was adopted by the Echidna and was considered part of the tribe.

Her guilt over her family dying leads to her defending the Master Emerald with her life

Raised her like an echidna: Learned to glide, use brute force (spikes on her shoes)

Rouge never learned how to fly, only glide. When she is betrayed by Eggman and joins Shadow’s side, she ends up using her wings to fly for the first timez

There’s a running joke that Rouge has no idea that she’s a bat (similar to Rocket’s raccoon joke in the first and second Guardians of the Galaxy movies). She thinks that she’s just a unique species of echidna.
