Lately I've been stealing little pockets of time to write.
You know those moments when you're just staring into space because your brain decides to play out an entire scene instead of letting you be productive? π
Cute scenes. Emotional scenes. One tiny interactionβ¦ and suddenly youβre asking yourself, βOkayβ¦ but what happened before that? And after that?β XD
Well...
Somehow it turned into a Kaiju No. 8 fanfic on AO3. It's called Standby (Me)
It's a slice-of-life story about OkoHoshi, with slow-burn feelings, plenty of Third Division shenanigans, a certain gremlin Narumi doing what Narumi does best XD
Oh! and also a few little doodles because apparently my brain likes to make extra work for me π
The funny thing is, when I started writing it, I thought it was going to be about one thing. Somewhere along the way, it quietly became something else.
I'm taking it one chapter at a time, but I finally know where it's going (finally!)

First of all, I laughed so much during the new game story for Soichiro. Second, he's such a little shit. Example A, Soichiro taunting Okonogi over comms:
My girl did not like that though, so we got OkoHoshi teaming up to make the 'premium' battle plan that Soichiro requested. In other words, fantastic payback for the attitude.
I love the level of vicious we got from Okonogi in this story. π Vice Captain Hoshina really said 'let's make the honju eat my brother' and Okonogi was like 'bet.' I love them.
I love the idea of Hoshina trying his hardest to hide his lil crush on Okonogi but failing miserably just because he can't help but look at her like that >:D

I obviously exaggerated, but we can't deny that Okonogi doesn't cry for just anyone.
I skimmed certain parts of the manga where I know she appears and I thought it was something she only does occasionally, BUT IT'S EVERY TIME THAT MAN FIGHTS
