Lucasfilm, the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council and the University of Manitoba said they’ve reached an agreement to record a dubbed Ojibwe version of Star Wars: A New Hope. The first film in George Lucas’ popular sci-fi series introduces many of the beloved characters, including Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo and his Wookiee co-pilot, Chewbacca.

Brothers George and Stephen Bonga fur traders of a African father and Ojibwe mother. George born in 1802, Stephen 1799, they were among the first blacks born in Minnesota. Schooled in Montreal, Quebec They could speak French, Ojibwe, and English. They lived with and acted as translators for the Ojibwe. Bungo Township in Cass County Minnesota is named after their family. (Spelling varied widely at that time)

We were watching brotherbear and afterwards he was talking about it, and how it makes you think, and during the conversation he mentioned being separated from our cultures, and then said,
“We think so much with our European brain, that we forget to think with our Native brains”
And let me tell you,, that for some reason made me so emotional.
