9x12 Ink and Oils on Yupo Paper. This bad boy was finally dry enough to put on the scanner. The color glaze is added digitally in Photoshop because Indian Yellow Lake costs like $20 a tube. Swipe to see the original color too! How could I resist doing an oil study of the @labreatarpits_museumstore Dire Wolf skull collection? #oils #oilpanting #ink #skull #direwolf #labreatarpits #yupopaper #wolf #horrorart #horror https://www.instagram.com/p/B8OzF_vgaR9/?igshid=79itg5v6ye8e

Painting
A few years back I was ‘stuck’ at an art event in October and had to keep myself occupied/non-bored for hours on end. I set myself up to paint a nearby creek from a good photo I had. The fact that I wasn’t home and could not get distracted or pulled off-task by the Usual Things worked wonders. I painted with much, MUCH more patience and finicky detail than I ever put into a landscape before.
I really learned a lot from that experience, and was able to do better going forward because I knew I had done it once - ergo I could do it again!
