We’ve had a great month appreciating the wealth of beautiful architecture in Cleveland’s neighborhoods throughout #PreservationMonth Thanks again to the Cleveland Restoration Society for inspiring us to explore and appreciate the diversity of architectural styles. Rounding out the month, we found some nice examples of the Craftsman Style in Cleveland’s Ohio City Neighborhood featuring: 1. A mid to low pitch roof that has wide overhanging eaves, and a series of decorative exposed beams along the edge 2. Triangular brackets along the edge of the roof. 3. A full or partial width porch supported by square tapered columns 4. Three or more windows grouped together in a line 5. We hit the streets again in the Ohio City neighborhood on Cleveland’s West side in search of houses exhibiting Gothic Revival characteristics: 1. Steeply pitched roof 2. Decorated bargeboard in the front gable 3. Front facing gable 4. Vertical board and batten siding 5. Gothic style pointed arches and windows 6. Decorative crowns over windows and doors 7.
