        he could never see him as if he were a ( child ) --- even when he had been. erie had lost the ability to empathize at an age that had to have been before the first snow of the eastern wars.           but that also meant that the child that his father had brought into this world after him, was not a child that erie had felt affection for. at least, not initially. i wasn’t until he became accustomed to the child following him and his friend prince roan around for    years.    that the man had slowly grown fond of the younger blonde. the idealistic child that didn’t understand malice and followed him around with bright eyes and a sense of adventure. two things, that would surely bring ruin to their territories if erie were to die before producing an heir. hence the fact that he was already married, marie was someone who viewed the world as he did, his strength, and ( for lack of a better word love ). and part of her appeal, was that she let him go off and do what he needed to do... which at the moment seemed as though it was ----

--- making sure that caed didn’t end up in some sort of ditch. a small laugh escaped the man as fondness took over his smile for a moment, watching his brother absolutely ( destroy ) his sparing partners in combat.       “ if you disarm them that quickly, there’s going to be leftover weapons on the ground, do not forget to maintain positive control of the weapon brother. ” his stern correction doesn’t come out sounding nearly as annoyed as he was hoping for. the man pushes himself off of the ledge he’s been using as a seat and makes his way over to the teenager and servants in the royal castle. while his brother doesn’t often stay in the eastern territories anymore, erie has little issue with the boy growing up with the queen and her family. afterall, erie himself spent much time here as a boy, even if his own had been cut short so he could go learn under their father.

        The sound of his soft exhale echoed in the small room. Wrists held above his head, the blonde’s strong fingers encasing them tightly against the wall. A rush of crimson colored his freckled cheeks, traveling down his chest. A familiar twist of arousal began in his lower abdomen, his hands twitching with the need to free himself. Testing his bounds, he rapidly concluded that he wasn’t escaping anytime soon. Swallowing thickly, his brown hues finally met Caed’s, gaze dropping unintentionally to the man’s lips before flicking upwards to meet his eyes.  “Let me go Caed..” The words fell uselessly past his lips, the back of his head parted ways from its resting place against the solid wall behind him. Inches between them, his nose grazed against the other’s, a playful smirk crossing unto his features. “Please.”

she doesn’t like him.  she never has.  caed was a bad influence as far as echo was concerned and had no place in polis,  let alone so close to roan’s side,  all from some childhood loyalty.  something about it infuriated her  ( maybe tinged with jealousy for her own lost childhood,  stolen away from her family ).  that was the only reason that she could even consider this,  the lack of emotional connection and the fact that he already managed to get under her skin.  anger was a powerful motivator,  a place of inspiration.

there were still four hundred members of humanity who were asleep on the ship.  they had needed fighters, thus: caed.  echo was unsure where his loyalties lied anymore.  wonkru, sure.  but he had been deathly loyal to roan and azgeda in another lifetime.  the time of the commanders was not as gone as they had thought it to be with madi’s presence and the flame inside of her head.  there was still much left to be figured out.
