FOR A MOMENT, Dean Winchester thought he was finished. The demons were surprisingly powerful, and there were too many of them. After a long and tiresome fight with them, Dean was currently PINNED to the floor, the edge of his own blade pressed against his neck and threatening to make a cut into his skin.
AT THE EDGE OF A BLADE OR THE BARREL OF A GUN: the hunter knew he would die this way, he just hadn’t expected it to be so soon. No matter how much he THRASHED against the demon that was holding him down, it held firm, and the blade continued to sharply press into his neck. THIS WAS THE END, he assumed, why keep fighting? If there was one thing Dean was GLAD about at that moment in time, it was that he had sent Kenzi back to the Impala. He didn’t want her to see him like this -- Dean didn’t want her to see him fail.
The demon TAUNTED and TORMENTED, but Dean fell silent, hands loosening from the arms of the demon, teeth clenching and tired emerald hues narrowing up at the monster.
❝ Do it, you son of a bitch. ❞
As if on cue, the sound of a familiar voice broke through the silence that fell soon after Dean’s words. KENZI. She had come back, and she was now screaming to distract the demon from fulfilling its mission. Dean took that moment to break out of the strong HOLD the black-eyed-sonuvabitch had on him and RETRIEVE his weapon. With swift actions, he began to attack the demon that had held him down, killing him JUST IN TIME to see that the remaining demons were after Kenzi. Booted feet heavily bounded across the wooden ground of the old barn they had tracked the demons to as he SPRINTED to the brunette; she obviously didn’t THNK before she had embarked on her ‘RESCUE MISSION,’ and if Dean wasn’t fast enough, she would be KILLED in seconds flat.
Luckily enough, Dean was quick on his feet and with his weapon, and he swung his blade at the demons with great skill -- killing them before they could BADLY HURT or worse Kenzi. ANOTHER tiring battle had passed -- one that Dean HAD TO WIN, and usually, the two would have celebrated about a victory such as this.
Demon blade clattering to the ground, chest heaving, eyes FLARING with anger -- Dean was anything BUT celebrating at the moment, and that became even clearer as he stormed up to Kenzi, voice raised with pure OUTRAGE.
❝ What TH’HELL were you THINKIN’?! That was th’most fuckin’ STUPID thing you have ever done, Kenzi. Do y’know that there was a chance you could be DEAD right now? ❞
