Eyes of the Model- there's a reason why the focal point of a portrait should be the subjects eyes....it helps us to see who they are and what they are feeling. It's actually one of the harder things to get models to do...emote with their eyes. This is a shoot I did at the Bonnet House earlier this year with the beautiful AJ Knapp who definitely understands how to communicate with her eyes and the camera. So when you're shooting out there photographers, pay attention to how the model is looking at you. Is that the emotion you want to capture? If it isn't, try telling them a story and help them feel an emotion. Help them to mentally and emotionally get to the place that you see in your head. If you do, your shots will get better, I promise.
