I really want this thing I wrong for Aaliyah on its own post so I am reporting it. VTM story of my Caitiff Aaliyah being pissed at her dad for not embracing her
PRIDE
1 month, 8 nights and 4 hours. Aaliyah had kept count how long it's been since she had seen her father. Funny enough it's also how long she had been a cainite. He left the same night she was going to be embraced, it was supposed to be the night HE embraced her but things changed.
That didn’t matter now, what matters is that she came back from hunting to find her father sitting on the couch tending to his knives. His hat was still on so he must have just gotten in. She clenched her fist in the pockets of her jacket, it used to be his jacket. He looked over to her, taking her in. She hoped he would understand now, seeing her as she always wanted to be, a cainite.
“Hey Bug, I’m watching The quick and the Dead. It's your favorite.” She took in how he spoke with little to no inflection, he always stopped masking so much when at home.
She went over and sat next to him, taking her own knife out the holster and placing it on the living room table. “Yeah, it was my favorite movie when I was 10.”
Her father ignored that comment and handed her his spar honing stone.
That silence between them lasted for what felt like hours. She finally let out a huff and turned towards him. “So you don’t have fucking anything to say about me? Ask me how it went? Ask me how my first time hunting was? HELL EVEN ASK ABOUT WINTER?”
“Winter texted me they had some business to take care of, I don’t need to ask about that.” He then popped a piece of gum into his mouth. The casual way he answered, the way he seemed like it was all normal again made Aaliyah feel like she was going insane. She let out a growl (that was new for her) and glared at him.
“WHAT ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE?!”
Karon stopped chewing and narrowed his eyes at Aaliyah, the glare was powerful and it made her sit back down on the couch. “Stop screaming, if you wanna talk about it we can talk about it. But it seems what's done is done.”
Her father took off his hat and placed it next to the rest of the things on the table. He let out a breath he didn’t need and sat back on the couch. Aaliyah sat back with him and tried to calm down. She hated how angry she felt , it was rare for her to ever feel this way about her father. But she had to calm down. She was taught that once she had her beast it was her responsibility to keep it tight on a leash.
“I won’t scream. But I wanna know why you didn’t do it, why wouldn’t you embrace me? You kept putting it off, it was supposed to be when I was 18. Then you told me to wait until I was 20 and then 20 turned into 21.”
There was a silence, like Karon was trying to figure out a way to give words to what he felt. Aaliyah could swear she felt a reaction from his beast before he spoke.
“Bug… you know you can’t have kids now right? That you will never see the sun again or breathe again that-” He kept speaking but the words became muffled, she could barely make them out from the ringing in her ear. She was so angry, she felt so unbelievably angry.
Did he think she was a child? That she didn’t know the fucking implications of being embraced. IT WAS HIM WHO TOLD HER THIS WAS AN OPTION WHEN SHE WAS 13! He couldn’t have changed his views on cainites, he still saw them as the ultimate predator. Did he want to keep that for himself, was she no longer a worthy embrace? Did he have some strange idea that he knew what she wanted better than she did?
She felt outside her body. Like she was watching herself from overhead as she sat on that couch next to her father. She could feel something else in her, something even angrier then she was. Then she saw it, she saw herself lunge towards her father with hands and nails outstretched to claw at his face. She snarled and hissed as she came at him.
She wanted to hurt him, her beast wanted to hurt him. Make him understand that she knew what she was and she wasn’t a idiotic kid anymore who didn’t get the gravity of it. When she was inches away from his face she saw that he wasn’t there anymore. He was so fast, like smoke. He was standing up behind the couch.
He grabbed the back of her neck with a strong hand, like a lion grabbing its kitten, and held her down face first into the couch. She was still snarling and angry, her nails ripping into the cushions. She couldn’t overpower him though, even in this frenzy he was so much faster and stronger than her. Her hands went back to claw at the arm holding her down and she drew blood, she could feel his Vitae under her nails.
He never got angry himself though, he just held her there like a statue waiting for the frenzy to run its course. “Aaliyah…” He rarely called her by her first name. If she wasn’t so deep in the frenzy and anger she could probably hear for the first time in her whole life, Sadness in her father’s voice.
